i saw the whole movie in my spanish class, even though i speak english and i sometimes have trouble understanding what they saying, its a good movie and one question: its funny how the captain keeps looking at his clock all the time. why does he do that?

@CLRaider SPOILERS:...... It is explained in the movie: He is obssesed with the time, because his father smashed his clock when he was about to die in battle to establish the exact hour he died, so he wants to do the same, in the end of the movie is the answer more clear.

Watching this makes me think of my step father and mom. My step father and I never had a relationship. Ever. To this day we don't and his son, my half brother, is 3 now. He never tries to make one. This movie came out the year my mom was pregnant with my brother. In her eighth month she could barely get off the couch and have me try to pull her up, you could see me really trying and then I'd be on the ground when she is finally off the couch (lol) My step father is as cold as the Captain.

@alternaterocker i wouldn't say it was just for effect. its not an american film, this film was produced in and made for spanish speaking countries like spain and mexico, then they decided to translate it and send the movie to english speaking countires to make more money, however your right about the passion of the christ, the change of language in that movie was for effect
