Society just doesnt understand WHY we do this... And the in my opinion the only reason why they look down upon graffing is because they either cant do it, or because we have some fellow graffers bombing on someones house or car.
Graffiti IS to show that we can show our art as well. Billboards are just large canvases waiting for ANY big company to show there art, and advertisement. WE, or I want to show my art to the city, and get my name up at the same time. Thats what the big company's are doing to the large canvases around the city ANY TIME they want without it being considered "illegal". They get up, we get up. They show art we show art. u have a point but graffiti is an outlet..but the feeling of acknowledgement makes it an addiction to sum ppl...you can choose to positively to sumthing with your art..however you dont have the choice of two pathways when using drugs
I beg to differ, brother. in my years ive gotten over my addiction, just as alcoholics and druggies have theirs. I do get hints of it here and there, but im not blind to it, so i dont act on it, just as a sober person knows better than to take a sip of beer after being sober 5 years. Ya gotta find the root reasons for the urge, and find value in other ideals. But thats everyones own choice to make.
