@125or200px I gather the exact same thing. There was just a certain "clarity," or "cleanliness," to the 636's tone. It did seem to cancel the most noise too.
MR BULLDOG, Do you know how the ASTATIC 878 Desk mic is ?? I am looking at one. I own an HR2510 Thankyou Sir. Is it cold up there yet?? I was born in Westbrook many years ago. 73s and have a GREAT CHRISTMAS !!

Many thanks for this review.
I liked the sound of the Astatic so much i have ordered one.
Just my opinion,but i thought it cancelled out more background noise.
The Cobra sounded cheep,and the 65DX was ok.
The audio from the Astatic takes some beating.

The Astatic AST-878DM is a wonderful microphone. I now have one hooked to the Cobra 2000 GTl. Real nice modulation!
