no thats not if u are kicking off the ground yoru ankle should be lined up with the side seam of the ball not behind it and that kada guy takes to many steps so this is all bs
First of all your not keeping your head down so you can hit the ball in the right spot...your keeping your head down so you keep control of your body and it all finishes in the right direction and control...and to the soccer player, look at a still photo of the pros hitting the ball and see where their looking.
A lot has to do with repetitive muscle memory. A secret though is adjusting your address by standing behind the ball, invisioning a line from the ball to the goal, and extend that line behind the ball. Walk that line however many steps you take, mine is 3, then perpindicular to that line take your steps (if a soccer style kicker) mine is 2. There is a strong hip rotational motion, just like golf. This way you take all the aim out of it so to speak and it becomes more methodical. Head down!
Well, there are so many secrets to kicking it isnt funny. I went out and kicked the other day and still today I can knock 45 yards down. I havent touched one in 20 years. Graduated HS in 1991 and at that time with a little strength conditioning I could kick 65+ all day. We had a kick off with our kicker, a all state kicker or so he said, and started at the 45 yd line, he started to struggle at the opposite 45 yd line, and I hit one at the 40 and the 35. You do the math! Form Form Form!
im an pre season All-American going into my sophmore year! the college I attend has the best kicker/punters in the nation for junior college we previously won a National title in '09 so check out my videos on kicking and punting user name is tyvincent45 should be up by 7/25/10
If you watch any kicker in the NFL their head is down when they make contact with the ball, its like any other sport you need to see what your hitting becusae if you see where you hit it and you are consistent you already know where it will go
I've been kicking for 4 years and it does help when you keep your head down. Kicking is all about form and mechanics. You want to take your drop steps and angle your body according to the field goal posts. Keeping your head down allows you to stay focused on where you're hitting the ball, and if you're a consistent kicker, you'll know where the ball is going to go when you kick it.
okay seriously ive been playing football for lik wat 5 yrs. it neva helped lookin down u need to noe whr the feild goal is. and another thing dats always helps me is putting the football at 60 degree angle facing towards me this helps u lift the ball off the ground much easier n i also position it to b at an angle either 75 to the right or left depending on factors such as direction n wind.

well, I play soccer and you want to look in the direction of where you want to kick the ball, not at the ball
