After hearing Jimmy R's original, I can't say that I honestly feel he gave it any more "emotion" than Paul. As for White and Black versions, why can't we like each version for what it is? I love the original "Two Hearts, Two Kisses" by The Charms, and I love The DeMarco Sisters' cover version. The only song I can say that I don't want to hear any version except the original is "I Left My Heart In San Francisco." That belongs to Tony Bennett.
he adds on little things in his vocals that turn you on, but he lets himself down, cos he's lacking PASSION!, he needs to think of a time as a younger man when he was devastated by a woman, it will bring it to life, we've all been there
this is such a white version no soul i know that comment is super racist and im gonna get slaughterd for it but lets all be honest anyone whos heard the jimmy ruffin version knows what i mean
well, no, i don't slaughter you for it, you are right in what you are saying, i'm in a white band that plays in a rock indie, pop band whatever it is lol, and my voice works for the style of music i do, but black vocals are best for motown

Yes, I'm biased as "all Hell," but even without hearing a recording, I would feel that any "cover version" that Paul did would outshine the original.

Very Motown. Seems like this agreed with Paul! Wish he had better luck with it.

i agree, this version is lacking any real emotion and soul, it's like he's talking instead of singing it, it's very wooden, i don't like it

Paul did a nice job on this song.
