I found this a bit on the brisk side but there's no denying the power of Vera's voice or its beauty but I don't think it's something you're supposed to just boom out - still it's magnificently boomed!
Would really like to hear Böhms version of Siegfried's funeral march from this 1967 version of the Ring. I'd be very grateful if anyone would be able to upload it and share it with the rest of us!
Erde is certainly the German word for Earth. I've only seen the Earth Goddess of Wagner's Rheingold listed as Erda in opera sites, CD booklets, and other publications, but perhaps she is sometimes referred to as Erde as well.
Ausserirdische Bilder! Were the photos taken that way or changed with photoshop? Great photos with the music of grand gestures that needs that type of grand background...5*
Erda's Warning: an evidence of Wagner's undeniable musical genius.
Bohm's "Warning" is good, but I like Janowski's and Levine's "Warning" better for their stressed ethereality. But this is still good, and clouds are excellent imagery for this sort of piece. Personally, I prefer a cloudy stratosphere or forested mountains at night.
I'll have to check out Janowski's version - thank you for the recommendation - and thank you your encouragement! Erda's warning is, indeed, "evidence of Wagner's undeniable musical genus" - absolutely.
Thank you! The inspiration was an email I received at work with pictures of "amazing clouds," and what could be more worthy of these phenomena than Wagner's music - especially Erda's song?
Very impressive, personally I would have preferred the aria sung a bit slower but very beautiful in any case !

Try Erde ... I think that's how it's spelled.

Yes, "Erda" is how it is spelled in the opera score as well.
