  • Steve Gadd, Alex Acuna, and Nathan East. Thats one heck of a rhythm section!!! The only thing that would make it better is if they were backing Michael McDonald. Oh wait... :)

  • This song never gets old. I noticed that nobody mentioned David Pack of Ambrosia on guitar in the background. That must have been quite a performance to be at.

'can you tell me what isn't so special about steve gadd?

    I doubt it

  • @cottonbuds2005 Steve Gadd is renowned as one of the most creative, talented, solid drummers alive. He is sought after by A-list talent because of his VERY solid groove. He has a pocket you can drive a truck through.

  • @cottonbuds2005

Steve Gadd is drums. Without Steve there is no paradiddle.

  • @cottonbuds2005 Late in the Evening at YouTube

    /watch?v=oUvQl2OZBD8

  • @cottonbuds2005 he plays slightly behind the beat. It makes for an anticipation of the drop. I love when drummers do that; they don't dictate the tempo, they enhance it.

  • @cottonbuds2005 nothing by the sound of him...

  • @cottonbuds2005 he came up with one of the tastiest shuffles ever.

  • @cottonbuds2005 yeah, he's one of the greatest drummers that ever lived. 50 ways to leave your lover, Aja, they should give you a clue

  • @cottonbuds2005

Because he has the ability to play a lot more but this style of music doesn't need that. He plays exactly what this style of music calls for.

  • @cottonbuds2005 Best Right Foot in Drumming. His Kick is so thick and full toned, it hits you right in the middle of the chest like a big soft pillow and your heart starts beatin' in time with it. He is so in the pocket, he is the packet. He is so solid in everything he does that he draws attention to the music, not to just himself.

That is why. It's an art form many musicians excel at. I call it Soul.

  • LA's #1 groove meister. a session maestro of impeccable time & taste...been around 4ever.....from Mangione to Clarke, Jim Hall, Simon, Aretha, You name 'em, he's played/recorded with 'em!

  • @cottonbuds2005

hey, Steve Gadd is one of the best drummer in the world...try to do some research!!!

  • luv this song!!!! lmao!!!

  • God, where did all the good talent go! There's just no amazing singers like James Ingram and Michael McDonald anymore :-( These guys both sound absolutely fantastic, what a fab duet!!!

  • holly molly!!!

  • Bel échantillon du son californien à voix multiples.

Un classique avec le maître des duos : Michael mc Donald.

Indémodable malgré prés de 25 ans.

  • love it

  • There is power in that song, so very well done

  • James Ingram is such a great artist/passionate in doin his craft - unfortunately we dont have this kind of talents anymore...

  • @alou88 sooooooooo ignorant

  • haha, Steve Gadd again on drums. Gadd is probably the most used drummer on the planet for ANY style of music. Plays with Chick Corea on Friday night and then with Michael McDonald on Saturday. And for good reason. Nathan East is showing up everywhere too. Very proud for these guys. Great Cats for any music.

  • WOWOWOWOWOWO

  • Best gospel song ever. Sad that Michael made a sarcastic comment, love his songs.

  • at what point was he being sarcastic? sounds like they both had fun

  • Apparently, Ingram had shaved his head right before the show, leading to Michael's comment and everyone's surprise.

  • James Ingram is looking and sounding very sexy and sharp!!!! Micheal MCdonald sounding as G8 as ever!!! Fantastic duet!!!!

  • Very Nice video Great Tune Thanks for Sharing KTF
