Nate do you have a book or CD out that people can buy. I like the way you present every one of your lessons. I teach here in NJ and work from many different books and CD's. Thanks, Jim
@candy1a68 Thanks for the kind words and motivation! I do have a book coming out next year with Alfred Music Publishing. Without giving too many details away, it is geared toward giving teachers/students a learning resource for beginners. It will be VERY useful for teachers to use with their students. Looking forward to it!
thankyou so much!! have listened to that song a billion times and like a dumbass have never worked out how to actually play it. watched this vid about 40 times but have all 4 parts down now! cheers again
I've been working on this one for a while now watching the Steve Smith walk-through video. This is song is working great for my first try at playing open. I figured out 90% of it but many thanks Nate for clarifying some strokes I was struggling with. Post a full version some time.

This is a good lesson but there is a video on youtube of Steve Smith explaining the parts. Who better to learn from than the man himself?

why would you play this song open handed if you dont normally play that way?
richard833 1 year ago
@richard833 Because it would be easier to hit the toms and snare
