  • @DirtyAssa Thank you my friend ; )

  • On 05/04/2011 I heard on Garage Deluxe in Munich, is very good bassist

  • Great bass playing very inspiring thanks for the video !!!

  • Great bass playing , man ! Glad to get the invite on here . Love this version of Stratus . Very good !!!

  • Hi! great playing! aside from the Jamman and the MPX G2,what is the other Lexicon unit that are you using in this video? is it a pcm 80 or 81?

    thanks

  • @TRON308

Hi - it´s the PCM 81. I just use it for some delay here...

  • @ufowalter thank you!! one last thing,do you know something about the possibility to expand the delay memory of the pcm 81 like on the pcm 80? i'd do everything to find a way to expand my pcm 81 memory size!

  • @TRON308 well..i don´t know. You must look at stecrecords

It´s a great website from Bob Sellon, the inventor of the jamman.

He will tell you ; )

  • DUDE!!! you are seriously one of my fav's !!!! you inspire me to take it to the next level...

One question.... is that EMG soapbar a guitar or bass pickup ??

  • @CatFro4

    Hi - thanks ; )

That´s an active EMG soapbar bass pu, like in the early Steinbergers...

  • Hey Jeremy

    thanks a lot my friend ; )

Yeah - we are the european band. We also played several gigs in the US and Canada, but mostly in europe. We just had a great Italy tour with Leon Hendrix as a guest and it seems that youtube helps us a lot.

Anyway - thanks for your support and maybe we´ll meet somewhere.

Please let me know when you wanna come to a show, wether in europe or the states. I´ll put you on the special guest list ; )

  • @ufowalter ...Thanks bro! I am doing what I can to turn everyone on to your incredible talent and to Randy as well. Please, accept my oldest buddy on FaceBook, sent him this video....he is in Turkey, finally caught some of the magic you guys kick you and loves it. Thanks for the invite...I WILL keep that in mind and would love to see ya perform someday. Rock on!

    Jeremy

  • Nice! You are a band of one Ufo! So you just play Europe or hit the US as well. It seems that all the videos I see with you and Randy, it's in Germany....he must have a US band and one in Europe....Gotta tell you though that the trio with you on Bass is the best 3 man band I've heard since Jimi, Noel and Mitch....oh forgot Cream. But hey, that's rich company to be counted in....rock on bro.

    Jeremy

  • Now this is some hot cookin stuff'. Finaly we see a bassplayer here who dares to go beyond clichés of what we think a bassplayer should do. Meine liebe du. Darf ich dies weiterleiten haha? gruesse from NL.

  • @perothing Oh yes. Did'nt Jeff Beck played this with Jan Hammer?

  • @perothing

thanks my friend - i am happy when you share my videos ; )

  • Awesome! If you tried using a pick you might be able to break that 256th note barrier that's been plaguing you! ;-) Seriously, I play guitar with a pick and with that tapping I'm pretty sure you're going faster than I can with a pick! Ridiculous! Good riff! What's the longest loop you can do in that old Lexicon Jamman?

  • When i see a first time I think you solo guitar hahaha it"s bass great solo

  • I can dig it ! Dang...that's just you all alone.

  • who's the main riff of the song!?

  • the theme is stratus , by Billy Cobham

  • Great playing! Yes, MajesticSuperiorHen, my favorite Cobham tune, too! The late Tommy Bolin was really a burner! Speaking of which, I'd love to hear this song performed live by the Randy Hansen Band!

    Later!

    Electrix

  • wow fabulous

  • Porno music! :D

  • you should try de guitar

  • Hey FrancescoToppi, why don't you tell Stanley Clarke that too??

    Electrix

  • it's okay but your fingers look fucked up

  • Hey Ufo, this is Glen, Randy's brother. I posted a video on youtube. Type in Glen's bass loop #1. I've been watching your videos for a while and have been heavily inspired. they all sound great. maybe we will meet someday, thanks for keeping Randy in line in Germany!

  • That was fantastic. Maybe my favorite Billy Cobham song.

    Excellent playing

  • was this bass expensive? how do you like it?

  • Well - i bought it in 1982 for about 1600.- DM, which was a lot by the time. I love this bass ; )

  • thanks!

  • excellent jose

  • Great job!!

  • this one works cool

  • You should do this for a living. I am quite impressed.

  • spielste heute wieder im indianer?

  • Exelent

    Great

  • cool

  • U are the man (Y) \../

  • it´s a hobby ; )

    i play bass....

  • That's pretty good! But why play a bass like an electric guitar?

  • @musicisthebestt: cause its possible...

  • Very cool

  • Hey -

I am using the Lexicon MPX G2 for modulation and pitchshifting, two octaves above the original bass sound and hide the aliasing noises with distortion and wah.

It works pretty good on stage and yeah it´s fun to freak out sometimes ; )

  • I forgot to ask one other question. What gauge strings do you use? What brand are they? Thanks.

  • Haha - these are the cheapest Warwick Red 035.- 0.95

They cost 10 € or less, but i change them quiet often.

    regards -ufo-

  • First of all: YOU KICK MAJOR ASS! What you are doing is just so ridiculously cool! I have a question. How does the Nobby Meidel Warwick compare to the Steinberger? I've owned 2 fretted Steinberger XL2s but they just never gave me that true bass tone you get from wood. I still liked them a lot but they were too sterile sounding for me and I sold both of them. Now I want another one of course!!! The bass players dilemma: one bass is NEVER enough!

  • Hey - thanks for your compliment.Well, they are hard to compare. The Steinberger is great for travelling, doesnt get out of tune and is humidity proof. The Nobby sounds a little better, but is wooden. So you have the typical dillemma. I love them both. I play 0.35 - 0.95 strings on the Nobby and 0.45.- 1.05 on the Steinberger.Yeah - i have got a lot of basses, just bought my old Fender Jazz Bass from 1967 back, i sold it twenty years ago, to buy a Steinberger. Thats ironic, isnt it ?

  • thanks dude - a nice comment is always welcome - ufo-

  • YEA MAN ! You Did NOT reduce!!!!!!!

  • You are my hero, anyway --

  • yeah- cool - these are two of my favourite songs. Thanks for your commengt -ufo-
