  • Stupid at the end when it said bmw 3 series sedan but showed a pic of a coupe!

  • unfortunately i ll have to wait 2 more years before i get this car.

  • it is true: the older TSX (2004-2008) is way better looking than the new one...and the narrowness of it it is appreciated with the parking spaces getting narrower every day...

  • @flutien Totally agree with you. That ugly metal above the grill has to go!!!! The TSX (2004-2008) was the best design!!!!!!

  • WANT IT.

  • @BeauD93z

What's about 4 cylinder car like TSX? Don't be a fool! It can run the heck out of you

  • They ruined the TSX. The old one is way better looking

  • @Stunr99

its true but the older tsx models were small

  • I like the aggressive look but I wish it have a V6.

  • Y there no Acura in Europe?

  • @columbuscrewfan20 no we haven't because we don't need it. Acura is a car manufacturer which makes huge cars with big engines and because of european gas prices no one will buy it. In US you always want something big like v8 or v6. In Europe we buy diesels instead. We've got this accord(tsx) which can also be equipped with a diesel, radar-guided cruise control, radar-guided break assist and lane-keep-assist. What is wrong with 4 cylinder engines? So many say "ah i want a v6" " oh there is no v6"

  • american accord (AKA Acura TSX) sucks - euro/japan version is much, much better looking

  • i love everything about this car.....except for the god dam grille. just like on the civic sedan, the chrome grille is such a look killer. great car but that thing sticks out like a soar thumb, my eyes are glued to it every time i see the car.

  • Every man's dream? I saw a similar vehicle mentioned online at fasteconomicalcars (.) com

  • i love the acura tsx. it's a beautiful car

  • look at this here a!v!a!t!z.net remove !

  • what do you mean dont expect it to compare to a bmw 3 series a 323i is slow as hel lol

  • @skyfaze Good thing he wasn't referring to a 323i then. Try a 335i or something.

  • @DBCOOPER888 yea thats in a different price segment when compared to the tsx

  • I really like the way this car looks. I think it looks a little better then the TL. My only problem is because it is a bit pricy I think it should have a stronger engine though.

  • @katanamast279 yeah, but it does have top of the line tech

  • @katanamast279 there's a 2010 model v6.

  • My mom just got this car. It's hot.

  • I LOVE ACURAS

  • that is a very good price on a luxury car

  • when will the germans accept that front drive is superior

  • Lol, I have said this so many times. Don't say something like" Don't expect to take on a BMW 3 series" Im driving a Toyota Camry and fly by those cars like nothing just about everyday....

Yes, if you are talking about a 0-60 drag race, a quarter of a mile drag race, or talking about social status, then you get what you paid for, but if you are talking in reality, give it a second thought b4 you speak. Driving not only depends on wut kinda machine you have, also, whos driving it and how.

  • this car in australia is called the Honda Accord Euro, the grill in my opinion in australia is much nicer, it makes the car look more expensive than this acura model

  • i like the steering wheel, but i preffer the radio climate control layout of the first gen tsx

  • I'm glad they changed the front grill on the euro version.

  • It is because Europe has style.

This is the Honda Accord in Europe. Exactly the same except for the grill

  • i love my dads tsx, the 4 cyl has 201 hp its enough ivedriven it, i should know

  • ha ha.. why did you get a few thumbs down for this comment.. lol.. so funny..

  • they came out with a V6 now.. dats wut most ppl wanted... more power

  • they should make them tsx sh-awd though.

  • It kind of reminds me when people used to critique Japanese cars about not being good and that they would fail, and look at them now. No offense to anyone but I think that Gm used to be in that phase in the early 2000's, and Hyundai too. Those Germans have always had solid cars and thats why they rock.

  • when you say solid german cars, i hope your not reffering to volks wagon cause they have been putting nothing but shit out. and the resell on jettas and passats are horrible

  • well just to let everyone know since there is alot of talk about mid-size cars and stuff. the japanese and european accord is rebranded in america as the acura tsx. so your choice if u call it compact or mid-size. the current accord we have now is called the honda inspire in japan. dunno why the big switch. weird isnt it. btw this doesnt have to do with the coupe just the sedan. i think the coupe are the same in both countries correct me if im wrong.

  • Europe does not get the Coupe, just the Sedan. Not the latest Coupe, anyway. We have had previous generations.

  • whats the best acura compact car? my research shows tsx

  • @ab0rtion ROFL you Americans.. Since when was the TSX (Accord Euro) ever a compact?!

  • @ab0rtion 3g tls are pretty amazing

  • @ab0rtion The only Acura compact?!?! in the U.S...

  • The TSX is about the same size as the 6th gen US Accord sedan (1998-2002) which was classified as a midsize sedan.

Acura can sell midsized sedans cause they want to. In Japan and in Europe the RL is considered full size. The TL only exists in north America. So really globally the TSX is midsize since the Euro Accord midsized, the US Accord sedan is now full size according to EPA.

  • not anymore :D now there's a V6 model with 280 horsepower

  • V-Tec is godly everyone knows that but a civic is nothing like a tsx they are the same size but a tsx is much nicer and a civic is a economy car while tsx is luxury.

  • Correction here, Civic= RSX, Accord=TSX that's all I can think of right now!!

  • You're right. The RSX was based off the Honda Civic Si. The reason they dropped the RSX was b/c buys were opting for something cheaper.

  • actually integra = rsx

  • the interior is like a cockpit

  • V6 TSX this summer

  • 280Hp... thats more than a 280 C Class, a 325i and an A4 luxury!

  • Yeah, but it lacks the prestige of the above cars sadly

  • I know, most people (including several auto journalists) consider them just expensive Hondas!

  • @msanchezym well acura is the luxury division of honda so yes... they are expensive hondas

  • @guitarwill17 I'm bored so I'll stop typing now

  • i wish that it looked better, other than that its excellent

  • It's a rebadged European/Japanese Honda Accord, not a Civic.

  • TL is based on US Accord, while TSX is based on Euro Accord. You need to learn your facts before stating your knowledge. The narrator at 2:05-2:15 in the video even states the "first TSX was based on the European Honda Accord, which is smaller than the US version".

  • Actually look at the dimensions. The TSX is very much a mid-sized car now in 2009. Perhaps a touch short, but just as wide and tall.

  • But here's what makes it a compact car:

    1. The "weak" engine - 4 cylinders, lack of power

    2. Not as many standard features as almost all of the midsize luxury sedans

The TL and RL are actually Acura's real midsize luxury cars, the TL being a less expensive but comfortable car and the RL being a very upscale but pricey car.

  • Weak it may be, but the engine doesn't make a vehicle "compact", it makes it weak.

I would also disagree very much on features. Dual zone climate control, heated power leather seats, glass power sunroof, Maintenance Minder, steering wheel controls, full security system, USB iPod interface (optional on 75 grand BMWs), Bluetooth, VSA, HID lights, multiple air bags, etc etc. I don't know what more you think should be standard in a 29K car, as that's more than RWD competitors by trade.

  • Standard features of the TSX include air conditioning w/dual-zone climate controls, interior air filter, tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel w/radio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, 8-way power driver seat, 4-way power passenger seat, power sunroof, 6-disc CD changer, outside-temperature indicator, and universal garage door opener.

But that's not the point. The point is that... ALL other midsize luxury sedans have significantly more than 201 horsepower.

  • I have a Consumer Guide book. According to the authors, the 2009 Acura TSX lies in the class of "Premium compact car".

  • and heated front seats

  • But I'm saying the power alone isn't the factor. It's still dimensionally mid-size. If it's power you want, the 2010 TSX V-6 will offer 280 hp.

It also doesn't matter what this or that independent group call a vehicle. You have to look at the dimensions and understand, in the same way the Accord is technically full-size these days but is still compared to mid-size cars.

  • No.

    Civic - TSX

    Accord - TL and RL

But anyway, then the TSX might be the smallest midsize luxury sedan there is. There are so many compact sedans that have similar dimensions to the TSX, and VERY few midsize luxury cars have similar dimensions to the TSX. Actually, I think all of them are bigger.

Are YOU considering the TSX midsize, or is it universally considered a midsize car? That would be very surprising. That'd be like calling a Honda Accord a large car.

  • It's not often compared to mid-size cars such as the MKZ, ES, or the like because it only has the I-4, but again, look at the dimensions. In fact, look at them and compare them with the mid-size 2008 TL. You only want to look at the engine, not it's size, which is the true determining factor here.

The TSX has nothing to do with the Civic either.

  • Acura TSX is to Honda Civic as Acura TL/RL is to Honda Accord

Well if you consider the TSX a midsize sedan, then it might as well be the tiniest midsize sedan. I don't think it's universally considered a midsize sedan.

  • Well universal tends to be controversial. The CTS still isn't universally considered mid-sized, for example, and the STS isn't fully considered to be full-size.

  • The CTS and STS are both midsize

  • Check the STS again; it's the 300's size, a car well known as being full-size.

  • It is sure as hell not the 300's size. I know the Chrysler 300 is a full-size car, but the STS is not. Rather, the DTS is Cadillac's full-size car.

You are overestimating the size of cars. Realize that throughout the Internet, the Acura TSX is considered to be more of a compact luxury sedan than a midsize luxury sedan. (Think: Why would Acura make THREE midsize luxury sedans? Why would Cadillac make THREE midsize luxury sedans?)

  • I didn't say Cadillac built three mid-size cars. And once again, universal isn't always right. People in America universally find diesels loud, rattly, smelly, and slow. That's of course not true.

I encourage you to check out and compare the STS's dimensions with the 300's. I'm not estimating, I'm being honest.

  • I don't see how I could have any amount of credibility with you because you are outright incorrect. The TSX has absolutely nothing to do with the Civic whatsoever. I don't know where you get that idea from considering the Civic is unlike the TSX in almost every way. Get your facts straight before you make a false statement.

  • No, you need to read up on the definitions of a compact sedan, midsize sedan, and large sedan. This is likely my last comment to you regarding this issue.

I have a Consumer Guide testing book. According to it, the TSX is a compact luxury sedan, and they say "The Acura TSX has a lot of parallels with the Honda Civic, considering that they come from the same general company, size, and gas mileage." "The Acura TL and RL both remind people of the less expensive Honda Accord, almost solely due to.."

  • Acura already has a parallel model to the Honda Civic and that's the CSX, which is sold only in Canada. Tell me something: If the European Accord is the TSX, then how is the TSX a compact car whereas the Accord is a mid-size car? The TSX isn't a compact luxury car. It's a midsize luxury sedan.

  • The European Accord is the TSX??? So the European version of a midsize car is equal to the U.S. version of a compact luxury car?? I'm SO confused, I have to admit.

    Accord - Midsize

    TSX - Compact

    TL - Midsize

    RL - Midsize

Think: Why would Acura want to sell three midsize cars?

Think: The video mentions that the TSX cannot compete with the 3-series. They probably wouldn't even MENTION the 3-series if it wasn't in the same "size-class" as the 3-series. (They'd say 5-series if the TSX was midsize)

  • As i know...compact luxury car = midsize normal car. Just like...lets say a US big mac is the same size as an Asian mc chicken. Funny and confusing indeed, and this is all marketing stuff...it makes you happier thinking u r driving a bigger car and in fact u r not...

  • it makes yourself sound smarter thinking you are talking right but your are not. I have no idea by midsize "normal car" you mean what??? Like a Honda Accord, Toyota Camry,,Hyundai Sonata, etc??? Those are family sedans are yes, they are bigger compare to compact luxury car, but in most of the cases they are different by far. Here, TSX comes w/ active damper, double wishbone suspension and w/ a 4 cynlinder delivers 201 hp, + many other features, u go out get a normal midsize car w/ these and talk

  • it's ok that you don't know about cars and miscomparing them based on dissimilar bases, but if you keep ur mouth open, you would only look ignorant.

  • hey man, it is good to know someone likes my ride so much to fight for it on the comment. i just say about the size standard difference, not comparing or praising or looking down on the car or anything. btw, if i sounds ignorant to u, then thank you for enlightening me.

  • @youmils03 Honda Civic is Acura CSX

Honda Accord Euro is Acura TSX

Honda Accord US is Acura TL

  • I had a 2004 Honda Accord (European) and it was not shorton kit or power for the time. It had more standard kit (and still does) than a similar powered 3 series BMW or Audi or Merc.

Say what you like about the Japanese, they are never stingy with toys!

  • @mokos23 thanks for the insight

  • Are you retarded?

  • Blech....the first generation TSX (2004-08) is far superior. Back to the drawing board Acura!

  • 6 seconds... yeah it feels fast when you drive it but when you time it it's always slower.

  • the speedo on the tsx/ accord euro is the best ever i've ever seen...

  • isn't it funny how the american goes it's fuel efficient. 9 liter per 100 km. 9 liters is efficient in america? and 0 to 100 in 9.5 that's pretty crap.

  • i'm fairly confident this car will go 0-100KpH in around 6... with the manual of course.

  • lol yep. apparently our safety standards are so high to the point where we have to sacrifice weight in order to feel safe and comfortable ;3.
