Well, she really can't get hurt up there. And, she wants a private place, where she can be alone. Get her some cat trees and put them some where where there isn't alot of traffic, as in people walking around all day. If you really don't want her up there, get a spray bottle, fill it with about an inch of vingar (They can't stand the smell, but it won't hurt them) and mixx it with water. They can't stand the smell. And just spray them when they do something you don't want them to do. :)

i have 6 cats and live in a big old house with high rafters..... what you do is keep a spray bottle with room temp water in it and when they do something bad just give them a few squirts with the bottle (like climb things that you dont want them to) after about 4 times my cats never went up there again... if you choose to try this i hope it helps =)

Cat's love high spaces. It's almost impossible to keep them from going up there. My cat loves to sleep up on the top of my door! lol  But if you are afraid from her safety, try a spray bottle, cats land on their feet about 90% of the time. But my advice would be to let her stay up there and wait for her to come down on her own accord. Cats are soltary creatures by nature so its possible she just wants to be alone for awhile. Cats are smart - she would only go up there if she felt completely comfortable. If she can get up there, she cab get down. Even if she somehow fell (and that could never happen) she would be fine. Cats are very agile.

What i do when my cats get stuck is i tempt them down with something like string, i pull it across the floor and after a few seconds, them come down and pounce on it, hope this helps :P

What I would do is remove anything tall near the rafters. Then she cannot jump up. Do you have a second story in your house? If you have a balcony close to the rafters or a little "passageway" by the balcony try blocking the middles of the balcony railings or bars holding it up. Hope I helped!

I have a cat so I totally know how you feel. My cat does the exact same thing all of the time when someone rings the doorbell. What you should do is put a box up in the rafters near the part that ur cat jumps into so she can't get in the rafters anymore.

I have 8 cats along with dogs with my family, we keep all animals that we find and try to find homes for them. Cats like to climb in places where they know they don't belong, I had to try many things to get them to stop, sometimes I put mechanical toys that makes strange noises and have them go off at times and it scares the hell out of the cats, which is so damn funny that they won't go back in that same spot....but hey it works....lol

1.If you have any smaller cameras put them up in differnet places or go to a hardware store or something and find some small cameras

2.try and find claw marks around the house and find different stuff seeing where she was

and

3.Get someone to put like a decortive gate up there so it looks natural and that'yll keep her out

My friend has the same problem with her cat, Bonnie. Her cat is half blind and deaf, but she still wants to jump on high places. And there's an area where if she were to jump, she could really hurt herself, so my friend put an electric mat there. It seems mean, but she said it isn't a strong enough shock to seriously hurt the cat, but it's strong enough to keep her from getting up there :)

Hello Thumbelina! You soooo cute! I think it's a vantage point thing with cats. They like to be as high up as they can get to survey their domain. Nibblet, my kitty, also get up on the top of the kitchen cabinets. First he jumps to the top of the 'fridge, then from there to the top of the cabinets. Cats are truly amazing.

i'm not sure. you can try spraying orange spray up there.. nature's miracle. it won't hurt her, but cats HATE the scent. that might help. our cats get up in our rafters, too. ours aren't as high, though, so we don't worry about it. good luck!

Your cat is not really unsafe - you're far more worried than your cat is! It looks high and unsafe to us humans, but that's a nice, safe hiding place as far as your cat is concerned! Unless you have some fire going on underneath.

If it worries you that much, perhaps have a cosy elevated cat house (with a bit of catnip) that it can get used to so it hides there instead?

Just an idea. But your cat knows it's not in danger up there.
