  • First RPG i've ever beaten, when I was 14. I fell in love with Elena and this song right away.

  • Is there any way to get the version of this that plays at the title screen? It starts a little differently, and I can't remember if there are any lyrics in it.

  • Check my new vid. :) I uploaded it.

  • where can i fond the liryc of that music

  • @infinit468 In the description. ;)

  • I'm Brazillian, my language is portuguese... I played this game, remember this music but as I have never seen a portuguese music in a game I never imagined that this music is portugues, still... it's great.

  • Isn't this the first example ever of Portugrish or something? :P

  • @Sizednochi Yeah, probably the first, but no the only, i've seen some other portugrish around there.

  • @GaladonGx I remember that Final Fantasy 3 (the NES one) had a image album that had a song in portuguese, though that one was sung well. It's called "Yuukyuu No Kaze" aparently.

  • I was brought here by stemage(dot)bandcamp.com/album/frets-of-valmar-grandia-ii. I think you should check it out.

  • Whenever i heard the song, i always though it was in Portuguese, but since the singer was Japanese (and her Japanese accent mixed with the portuguese language did not help) i always thought it was also my imagination.

  • @jacobyne xD Well, I always thought it was in Spanish, but then I searched the lyrics and found out that it's Portuguese sung with a Japanese accent, hehe.

  • such a sad song but i love it

  • Its possible continue playing before end?

  • Holy cow, this takes me back. I remember watching my dad play this game when I was a little kid, sitting in his lap. I used to hum this song all the time. Man, this song still brings tears. Now it holds a stronger meaning now that I finally see what the words are.

  • Oh snap! I'm Portuguese, and after all these years I never noticed this music was in Portuguese!

  • @Rafa3l16 Same here. All these years I've been humming this song in my head (specially if I'm sad) only to discover that is sang in my own language. Awesome :)

  • @Rafa3l16 lol i didn't know too about portuguese grandia 2 soundtracks i am portuguese too

  • The person who sings this, is it the japanese voice actress or english? I get confused? Or is it someone else who sings it :')

  • @xplanetsx I think it's a japanese singer, not the voice actress.

  • @crestofvalmar123 Oh ok :P

  • @xplanetsx The words are in Portuguese, sung by a Japanese singer

  • @xplanetsx The words are in Portuguese, sung by a Japanese singer.

  • the moment i heard this song being sung by elena at the start of the game, i immediately got hooked. immediately i knew that this game, like other games ive played before (namely FF8,9) will always remain with me. one of the best games ever. too bad theres no such games being made nowadays. all obssesed on creating new systems instead on just focusing on the story and developing the characters.

  • @cookiewaa I agree. :)

  • @crestofvalmar123 lol yea forgot to thank you for putting this up. and lol seriously? youre from a filipino? xD finally someone else from my country who actually took a liking to this game :))

  • @cookiewaa lol But this is really an epic game! xD I used to play it with my friends from my last neighborhood.

  • @crestofvalmar123 lol i played it alone but finished it a couple of times :)) tho i almost always stop at the part where you have to explore valmar's body lol. coz that place is just so large xD but yea i still pulled thru..mainly because of wanting to hear cancao do povo being sung by the ppl before the final dungeon and by elena at the end :)) or and granas sanctuary too. their awesome melody made this game all the more rewarding to play and finish.

  • @cookiewaa lol I did play it alone and finish it a couple of times too. xD But it was fun when my old friends were watching me play. Haha. :)

  • @cookiewaa And, yeah. The Body Of Valmar is really a tiring part too. lol

  • @crestofvalmar123 it is. some annoying monsters too :))

  • I don't like songs about Gods and i don't like the church because of something that happened in my life. BUT: this song is so beautifull, that it makes me forget all my sorrow...

  • Isso não é espanhol.

    é português.

  • sim realmente soa a portuges ...isso devido a alguns portugeses neste progecto

  • @ AThousandSuns1994

  • this song is sung in Portuguese PORTUGUESE - A DEUS Nascer do Sol, palavras, milagre Água pura, uma lágrima Paz, luz, amor… Fruto agreste, respiração, liberdade Harmonia, vento da benção Agradecimento… Tempestade, inquietação, escuridão Luz do Sol, alegria, graças a Deus ENGLISH - TO GOD Sunrise, words, miracle Pure water, a tear Peace, light, love ... Wild fruit, breathing, freedom Harmony, wind blessing Thanks ... Storm, restlessness, darkness Sunlight, joy, thank God
  • @falavavo It's already in the descriptions... -_- xD

  • @crestofvalmar123

    yeah faild

  • @crestofvalmar123

If I didn't mix things up life would be uneventful and plain.

  • I realized that and had tried to delete it but I guess it didn't work. . . lol

  • @bms71488 lol xD

  • Comment removed

  • @bms71488 Um, you're another one of those who posted the lyrics in the comments when it is already in the description. -_- xD

  • This song is quite nice...beautiful actually

  • 1:30 ...pure magic ♥ i could cry, every time i hear this song..

  • обожаю эту песню...

  • Comment removed

  • @alextr11 Um...Why did you have to post that?

  • Comment removed

  • @alextr11 No need to delete. It's just that I already put the translations in the description box xD

  • oh yeah and something that didn't apeared on the descriptions is that a Deus = to God

  • @SeraphinBR I must've overlooked XD. You're such a perfectionist haha. Anyway, when you read the lyrics translation, you can see that 'a Deus' means 'to God'. I'm gonna put it in now.

  • @crestofvalmar123

To seek perfection, In all forms, is the nature of man. Beyond that, I am glad to see that others are being helpful. ^ ^

  • @Trexsis Wow. That is something deep xD. That comment didn't seem to fit in because it was just so sudden lol. But, I agree. ^_^

  • oh this song sucks sorry G-G i didn't liked it D:

  • Does anyone remember the remixed version of this song? Lol I was way too young too remember the game all that well, but this song's always stuck with me to this day :)

  • @LaLaW5 Isn't it Granas Sanctuary? You can find it on my channel :)

  • @crestofvalmar123 Sweet! Lol thx a bunch!

  • @LaLaW5 No problem ^_^

  • A Deus on repeat = the best sleep of your life. I sometimes get the most beautiful and elegant dreams ever as well.

  • This song is so... Sad, yet soothing to me. This is definitly one of my favorite games of all time.

  • da kommt man ins träumen!

I love the game and the songs!!

  • Am I the only one who thinks this song is eerie and haunting? Like, a cry for help or something? Its almost bittersweet.

  • @JaredVictorMartin Well, the song couldn't have subliminal messages or something like that. Your opinion is new and strange o.O

  • @crestofvalmar123 Well, speaking from just the music stand point. Many of the chords are dissonant and the harmony that comes in only intensifies the dissonance. The violin is what brings a lot of the melancholy, while the harp keeps it light and airy. Like the slight glimmer of hope.

  • @JaredVictorMartin Well, the song is really haunting but I don't see any negative 'meaning' from the song.

  • @JaredVictorMartin You're not. That's what they really intended to achieve.

  • @CarlosUVV How do you know that? o.o The words are plain and simple.

  • @CarlosUVV Thank you! Someone previously called me crazy and didn't understand what I meant.

  • @JaredVictorMartin o.o I didn't call anyone crazy. xD I'm simply confused. >.< But I agree with your 'music stand point'.

  • Although I speak portuguese, I have to admit, I have trouble even understanding the spoken lyrics. I don't know if they are speaking a certain dialog, or that the Japanese difficulty in speaking the words is the reason. Nonetheless, you don't need to understand the words to understand this beautiful a piece.

  • Ok, great song and all...but japs trying to sing in portuguese is funny...

  • @murtaniel Maybe it was intended to be sung like that xD

  • Lol this song sounds somewhat sad but yet it helps with gettigng a little R&R

  • Thanks for the upload

  • @7Haseo No problem :)

  • Such a great song! Sometimes I just couldn't exit the main menu and start the game, because I was too mesmerized by this song :)

  • A Deus INSTRUMENTAL watch?v=9dMkIsw_mnw

  • @Honmaru74 This is technically spam, but the fans would appreciate it! XD

  • @crestofvalmar123 XD sorry but a deus instrumental not uploaded to youtube ! XD and I search and found nothing, but now I have ! lol

  • @Honmaru74 lol You're confusing xD.

  • @crestofvalmar123 yeah, i'm spanish, and... no understand english..

  • @Honmaru74 Ohh okay. Triste...? Not sure with the word. I know very little Espanol. x|

  • @Honmaru74 I don't understand Spanish. :|

  • Comment removed

  • @crestofvalmar123 @crestofvalmar123 Triste is sad. Spanish is a little different from Port

  • @mainkilla Really? 'Cause I used a translator once and 'sorry' was translated to 'triste' lol. I don't know. Anyway, I know that Spanish have some differences from Portuguese.

  • @crestofvalmar123 ella está triste she is sad

  • @mainkilla I really don't know lol

  • @crestofvalmar123 Unless you took Spanish or learned it as a child, you wouldn't lol. I was able to translate parts of it such as palavras- palabra-word but some I don't flat out know or know the port part of it.

  • @crestofvalmar123 In French, "triste" means sad. So, even in other languages it mans so. It sounds like a prayer to Granas, the God of Good in the game. Therefore, she could be talking about how sad the world has become, if you listened to the story of creation in the middle of the gmae, when Granas's worshippers discovered darkness and crap. IDK, it's been a while since I played it, due to a YLODed PS3.

  • @Snakemast345 'triste' isn't in the song

  • @Honmaru74 bah your not confusing bro xD

  • @sanduni1 ^^

  • I need to stop listening to this song.. haha.. nice voice, nice arrangement, nice lyrics.. :)

  • This reminds me of much better times.

  • AWESOME!! I LOVE THS GAME! ..and the song is beautiful!

  • This game brings back soo many memories! I loved this game soo much, I played it over & over again on the dreamcast, when my dreamcast broke I got the PS2 one. I was in 5th grade when it came out, & this was my first "teen rated" game that I played lol. This game is AMAZING. Grandia III was DISSAPOINTING (except the battle system)

  • One of the funniest things about this game was tha final boss. Its a head in a toilet with wings.

  • @DragonofEternity Ooh...I never noticed that xD

  • @DragonofEternity HAHA ! I thought he looked like a butterfly, an ugly one lol.

  • One of my favourite games. Finished it when I was nine, my first rpg. This game brought me to tears, and hooked me on rpg games!

  • Birth of sun, words, miracle

    Pure water, a tear

    Peace, light, love...

    Fruit, agreste, breath, freedom

    Harmony, blessing wind

    Thanks...

    Storm, unquiet, darkness

    Sunshine, happyness, thanks to God

    the song in english

  • @gatlin127 Yah, isn't that in the description box already?? xD

  • oh dreamcast we had some good times together

  • yea the dreamcast was one of most beloved systems even more than my ps2 i was deeply hurt wen it fell

  • Her heavy japanese accent makes the song difficult to understand even for me (I am brazilian). Nonetheless it is just perfect.

  • Were can i download these songs there sooo good. Do you guys no any place to get them without getting viruses?

  • One of those songs that creep up your spine with blissful tingles that tantalize your mind and reverberate through your soul.... at least for me... first time i heard this... it was burned into my being.

  • This song always puts my mind at ease.

  • I absolutely love this song. Oh man, its so good. I get all happy when I'm playing and she starets singing.

  • I love it.

It is so serene and calm.

  • I'm Brazilian, and I can't understand a shit of what she is saying.

But the music is good =)

  • this one is going for title music in my game

  • bem me parecia que era português. Só estou a jogar isto agora.

  • i´m portuguese and this is the way the japanese spell portuguese words. exemple? card in portugguese is carta in japanese is kareta. for english speekers this is noosense but anyone speeking portuguese it will make sense

  • imo Grandia II was ok, but I will always love the original Grandia more. But this song is so pretty, I always loved hearing Elena sing it in-game =O

  • Do you know where I can get Grandia 2 and 3? I have Grandia 1, with Justin, Feena, Rapp, Milda, etc... But I'm desperately searching for Grandia 2 and 3. I didn't find it in game shops like Fnac or Game Mania. But I have to get it T.T

  • Have you tried searching online? IIRC, Grandia 2 was only made for Dreamcast and PC (and it's pretty old). I had DC version. I don't think any stores would sell it anymore, try looking on ebay or something.

  • ps2 too

  • Its also a Ps2 game

  • I've got Grandia 2 brilliant game try looking in a gamestation or game thts where i found myne. =)

  • Try ebay or a game stop. Thats where I got my ps2 version of Grandia 2 and where I'm going to buy Grandia Xtreme and Grandia 3

  • yes; but ebay is for the US isnt it?

I live in Belgium; and i LOVE THAT GAME im addicted to grandia one... Im totally desperate about 2; 3 and extreme T:T

  • A lot of the people on ebay while ship to other countries if you ask.

  • You can probably download or buy Grandia 2 for PC

  • I'm brazilian actually, and I never noticed it was in portuguese! :O

Maybe because it's a litte different sung in jap ^^

  • haha! more like she's just really bad at pronouncing Portuguese.

  • ever time i listen to this i start to sing it me and my cousin always sing this together idk y tho probably becuz its awsome ehh i prett like all themes from grandia 2 lol

  • heehee yeah i kno tio's so cool

  • Muito bom, obrigado Game Arts.. (hope I spelled that right)

  • mi personaje favorito fue Mareg, Porque tuviste q morir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • really love this game and this song my fave is tio of course

  • My fav is Millenia. She kicks so much ass she needs a third foot.

  • heehee i see true she's good at magic and her attacks are good but her defense is pretty weak

  • Tio was my favorite too! I love how she randomly says letters and nmbers when she is performing certain spells!

  • 'White' 'Ice' 'Light blue' 'Release wind' That's Tio for ya'! One of my favs, too!

  • I feel sorry for the people who do not like these games, they are missing out on great works of art.

  • Where did you get Grandia songs? I just need their songs!! It's so awesome!!XD

  • OMG this is the best OST ever !!

grandia is Awesome there has to be Grandia IV

  • Millinia is so awesome, I love how she is in love with Ryodu. This game is pretty damn hard if you don't train and level you're Egg's and and Books right though...

  • Ha ha, I finished this game at level 40 something or rather LoL. I just levelled up everything going through the game xD

  • The game is easilly finished if you max out everybodys first SP attack like Elenas IMpact Bomb, they give a cancel effect which is godlike ( forgot to mention that these attacks are instant when maxed )

  • can anyone give me a link for sheet music for this?

  • does anyone have any idea where to get the piano sheet music for this song?

  • Absolutely brilliant song!

  • Love this song! this is the Grandia game EVER!!!!

  • love this song and grandia 2 on dreamcast <333

  • grandia is epic

  • Even "epic" doesn't do Grandia justice, man. That game is beyond words. Too bad the PC clone was riddled with bugs. I can't even get it running these days.

  • thx man i'm actually portuguese and it is kinda difficult to catch what the singer says but since you have the lyrics it makes all sense now.

dc and grandia 2 4life xD

  • Elena, I love you !!!

  • I love this song!! Bad pronunciation and all :p

  • i love grandia!

i have finished it alot of times on computer and ps2

  • You say the song was originally portugese? I would like to know if you or anyone has/knows where i can find the original song. I would much like to hear it and compare the two, and hopefully it's as beautiful as this piece :)

  • I don't think there's an original "A Deus" song. What I meant is that the lyrics are Portuguese. I think the song is composed is meant to have Portuguese lyrics but Japanese pronunciation.

  • This song is so calming! I like it!

  • Grandia = best game ever!

  • i wonder why all new games hasn't songs

    where some is singing....

    its a great song.

    Ilove it^^

  • Cost is probably higher or something along those lines... but yeah, a lot of new games could definitely use it since it shows here that it definitely works for the game.

  • Grandia II is far better than grandia III. Grandia III had more of a cartoony, happy go lucky feel to it. This was different, Grandia II had a much more dark/serious setting, nothing like grandia III. There for, grandia II is my favorire. Better music too

  • Play Grandia II on Dreamcast this game is the bomb!

  • lol We no longer have DC! hehe Talk to others here :D

  • amen to that:D i have it on my DC and played it recently just have to love it:D

many things such as sound-effects are like taken away in the PC and PS2 version , thats why DC is the GREATEST:D:D!!!!

  • thanks for reminding me of this song

  • No problem :)

  • my game, my childhood, my memories thanks for all your videos man, so at least I have a place to relive my childhood n_n. thanks.

  • You're very much welcome :)

I'm glad I made you glad.

  • The song's name means "A God".

Weird, especially for Grandia II O.o

  • It means "To God". 'A' in Portuguese means 'to' as far as I know. And, the last three words are translated "Thanks to God". And, it's not weird for Grandia II because there was someone considered a God in the game.

  • Each time i heard this song on the storyline...would pause for like 10 minutes before doing anyhing! It's so sad and nostalgic but at the same time soothing and peaceful!...Either Way This is my favorite soundtrack of this game! And I Never Get Tired of listening to it!

  • my favorite game by far

  • the song of final :)

the best song of the game :D

  • I can't believe the beautiful works that are being created for video games.

This is truly one of those extremely outstanding works.

The words, the music, the perfection that went into this song is INCREDIBLE!

This song is TRULY a Praise to our Creator.

    A definite tearjerker too. :)

    Joe

  • You do realise this song was created for a game who's moral was that a creator is redundant, deities are superfluous, God is dead, the devil killed him and the Pope worships the devil, right?

  • lol strange may never have played this game but this song is still cool, dont jesus it up plz

  • Elhaym6 is right though. He's not trying to "jesus it up."
