  • at 6:52 it looks like she has a bute of a black eye

  • i don't think the ambiguous space, clothing and those oriental pattern and ornament relates to family/sacrifce

i thought the setting was on a boarding house and it has something to do with aging? like juxtaposing the aged against the youth (close up scene of both actress). well that's my opinion.. justs work is well too paradoxical to be translated into a rational narrative.

or at least that's what i thought when i first saw this in an art gallery yesterday

  • @ghanamuscle2000 I also went to this at the Baltic only a few days ago, and agree in that it is the one that truly stays with you.

however, I feel this video does not do it justice - you really need to be there.

    magnificent.

  • I saw this today in the Baltic Gallery in Newcastle and it was incredible. I don;t go to art exhibitions as I find them generally pretentious, but this short film really, really impressed me. It's so haunting. The other two in Jesper's collection were forgettable, but this segment really stuck with me. A truly memorable piece.

  • speachless

  • I really cant get over how much i love that cut at 6:55.

  • thank you so much for uploading this! I saw this in helsinki couple years ago. This is so amazing! Do you know is there any dvd?

  • I've always imagined how it is about letting someone new into your family and letting go of your children, but thereby sacrificing something of yourself and the person you've been for so long to give your child that.

  • can anyone tell me where I can find "A room of one's own" and "it will all end in tears"?

  • Magnificent.

  • Perhaps an underlying connection between people.

  • what is this about?

  • Finally! I've been wanting to see this film again ever since I first saw it at a museum. Nothing but respect, because I still think this is one one of the purest and most powerful shorts I've ever seen!

    Thanks for sharing!
