Oasis and The Verve are both amazing bands both with two lyrical geniuses at their core. Richard Ashcroft and Noel Gallagher both can write amazing music that moves people.
@LionsToTheChristians did they sell anywhere near as many albums as coldplay or headline as many festivals, did they sell anywhere near as many albums as u2, no, so i think they were underrated, i didn't say they weren't well known or successful, my comment stands, 'one of the most underrated bands ever!' that's fact, ashcroft is as good a frontman as liam gallagher but doesn't get the credit for it, so yes the verve are underrated. Seems there's 62 people who agree with me.
Why do people compare the two!? Oasis is an airy feel good band...(nothing wrong with that) whereas the verve are a deeper band and of a more obscure genre and sound...hence the reason they were never too commercially successful.
Don't compare them they are quite different! enjoy a band what they are individually.

no wonder oasis 'chucked it'.... no-one comes close and perhaps never will. The Verve at a time when they were at their most potent and dark best!!!....don't get me wrong i enjoy the odd Oasis track but its merely an appatizer for this...the main course!!
