  • Lendl 's wife is a gold digger !

  • That wig...

  • Amazing what a poor loser Jimbo was. lol

  • what a jerk Connors is never liked him what a tool

  • Nothing worse than a sore loser Jimmy. Shame on you.

  • Connors was as at least consistent in being a turd. Of course Lendl was pushing the backhand - it was a fuckin tactic, and it worked!

  • How can you talk shit about smeone whose beaten you 18 times in a row? That's crazy. Connors is an ego maniac and bad loser. Lendle was just the better player and kicked his ass once again@!!!!!

  • LMAO @ Lendl's expression at 1:16 - "ok, c'mon Jimmy, time for another whipping. Let's make this quick".

  • this highlight video is great...the music with the points and the commentating go perfect...i don't know why they stopped doing these videos....i have the 94 US OPEN highlight video but its not as good as the 91 or 92 video

  • connors, you sore loser.

  • Sorry, he lost to him 18 times in a row. And Connors you clown, the reason why he slices his backhand to your forehand:

    1) Your shots are very flat

    2) You're a leftie so Ivan slicing crosscourt gives him a higher margin for error since it's the percentage play.

So instead of just being a sore loser and saying he doesn't play anything like he used to - he's beaten you 18 times in a row dude so it doesn't matter really.

  • Connors, you're really no class man - Lendl invented men's power tennis to what it is today. Just because you hadn't beaten him in like 12 years doesn't mean you deride his contribution to the game.

  • @sam7666 Thanks, I'm sure Jimmy read your post and took it to heart.

  • @sam7666 no way !! it's agassi who invented men's power tennis from the baseline ! not lendl, who brought professionnel physical preparation ! it's not the same ! lendl had a strong forehand, and an edge backhand ! but an irreproachable physical !

so connors was right on that point !

players like mc enroe ou himself were far more gifted than lendl !

agassi brought the strenght to the tennis

  • @jembozzo Agassi invented men's power tennis? Yes, and Graf invented serve and volley.

  • @sam7666 ASSHOLE, LEARN A BIT ABOUT TENNIS BEFORE YOU TALK TO ME

  • @jembozzo LOL, LOl, LOL. You, like your comment are completely retarded.

  • @sam7666 yeah you're right, i'm in the french team, my best friend is fabrice santoro, i'm a professional, so now, lay down on your knees

  • @jembozzo hahaha, you French all are dirty, classless bastards. Look at the way you treat the champion Rafael Nadal, you cheer his mistakes and try to make him lose. The French are the worst tennis fans in the world. And like I said, you know nothing about men's tennis. Agassi was a hack who had no serve and no backhand. Lendl invented the power game and dominated with huge serves and forehands as well as unmatches fitness. Now go and crawl under the Parisian rock you came from, cretin.

  • Lol Connors calling Lendl a pusher. The old man needs to STFU.

  • hahaha Connors lost to this "pusher" something like 15 times in a row haha

  • agassi looks funny lol :D

  • Connors is bitter..haha.. doesn't match his flamboyant personality... poor loser.

  • wow connors, lendl, mcenroe, becker, edberg, sampras, agassi, chang, courier ......... 9 all time greats in the same tournament, this is tennis heaven only borg and wilander are missing

  • i dnt care if they moon ball bunt slice if ur good enough u shud win no matter how the opponents play

whats the point of playing to an opponents strength if they are going to beat you

    ur here to win ultimatly

  • He was needling Lendl who in 1992 was past his prime and started to loose matches against players who he normally wouldn't loose against.

Am i right in assuming this was the last match against eachother and also in 1993 Lendl played his final match ever at the U.S. Open losing in the second round by defaulting the match because of his back condition?

  • i remember the connors/lendl match. connors was dead wrong in saying he now just bunts the ball...it was lendl's strategy as he explains it in the interview.

btw, lendl's wife is fuckin HOT

  • Not really. Connors was right, he did "bunt" the ball, trying to wear Connors down. I recall him doing that even back as far as 1987(LOL! Lendl just said that, as I was typing it!). Anyhow, it was particularly valuable for Lendl this year as he was not confident and Lendl get's very tight when not confident, while Connors came out on fire. But he knew he had that huge fitness edge over Connors (far more than ever). As Connors said on court after the match "it's hell being 40!

  • it's not called bunting, it's called slicing and it worked perfectly. Connor's weakest shot was his low forehand, so it was the perfect shot for lendl to use. POrobably explains their head to head record!

  • One must love idiots who know nothing about tennis, that spout off on youtube.

1."bunting" was Connors description, not mine

2.Actually Lendl was using a "chip" backhand which is a sub-variation of the slice

3.Connors wasn't just referring to the slice backhand but a relative lack of authority on all of Lendl's shots

4.Lendl's strategy here was NOT to take advantage of Connors forehand as Ashe did at Wimbledon, but simply to extend rallies as the again Connors was suffering badly (cont)

  • were not of the same generation and thus, met "in passing". The only reason they played so long is because of Connors longevity.

PS. Though we colloquially use slice to mean underspin, the two are technically not interchangeable.

  • Hmm.... points #5 and #6 are missing despite my attempt to post them twice. Oh well.

  • LMAO

  • The commentator was wrong at the end of the vid saying France clinched the DC title in 1990. It was in 91

  • all these videos are great

    thanks
