hahaha that dude is such a hypocrite, saying we should all stop pointing fingers at each other and then immediately points his finger and starts to bash on obama
Dems: so healthcare Repugs: NO! Dems: but Repugs: NO! Dems: no what? Repugs: no to your idea! Dems: but you haven't even heard it yet. Repugs: we don't want it! Dems: what do you want? Repugs: something better. Dems: well so do we... Repugs: no you don't! Your way's worse! Dems: well do you have any ideas? Repugs: of course! They're better than yours. Dems: well what are they? Repugs: I'm not telling. Vote Republican in 2010!" HAHAHA
This is so laughable that Matthews is trying to wash all the blood off of his hands for his role in putting GWB into the White House. Nobody watches MSNBC so how in the hell does he still have a job or get guests on his show? He knew what Bush was and he did not care. Chris, you are pathetic.
@industrialsun Where I live!!!! Everyone watches MSNBC! The only areas where no one watches MSNBC are areas where they believe in myths, aka, believeing in god and where they dont believe in evolution. Dumb asses. No wonder youre all poor!!!
you democrats and republicans are all responsible for this nightmare we are in. They have both sold out to the zionist so they will get favorable press and get re-elected, the good ol usa be damned.
Conservative MSM is STILL reporting the lie, that Cantor's office, not his CONSULTANT's office was hit. Figures, conservative media bias when the Reps called for the protests.......
AHHHH. the REPS and some DEMO-RATS can talk all the fancy they want. the ONLY reason they will not vote for the HB is because, after so many have failed, do you think they want the HIStory books to read that an UPPITY, ARROGANT, INTELLIGENT, GOODLOOKING, 'NIGGER' PRESIDENT got it RIGHT? they couldn't sleep at night. OBAMA is following his heart, he KNOWS we can't wait. DO SOMETHING NOW. like i said, they say NOT ON HIS WATCH. that is the ONLY reason. ANYONE accept that 'NIGGER' PRESIDENT. PRAY!
I spelled gulliable wrong (gullible). What the GOP is really pissed off at is how Obama is constantly reminding the public why we are really in this financial mess. Don't anybody try to tell me other wise because, it's all been recorded and, cannot be supressed any longer. Some friends and I are going to help remind people of this very same thing as time goes on because, I noticed people have selective memory as well as hearing. If Obama really wants to piss off the Party of No. VETO their asses
I have a question why did you stupid idiots vote for Bush again long after that LIE HE TOLD ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR.? You can't be that dumb. Weapons of Mass Destruction. Give me a fuckin break. I noticed Tony Blair in England is on the hot seat because, they know the Iraq War is a fuckin lie as well. People are not stupid. The stupid ones are the ones believing that shit like that idiot Quiter Palin with Death Panels. I never realized how gulliable people really are
I'm elated that Obama brings people back to reality about how FUCKED BUSH/CHENEY AND THE REST OF THE GOP for 8 years really impacted our country. A debacle we are still experiencing and, will for many years to come. Oh I know. This si a good one. "Well Obama is spending to." No shit dumb asses. Top economist as well as some Republicans along with some wealthy, not just rich egree that Obama adding by way of stimulus was a good idea because, it stopped the bleeding if you will.
Funny how all of a sudden, I'm reading the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Republicans are saying the incumbent Republicans needs to leave office also. This, coming off the GOP meeting in Baltimore January 29, when Obama gave the GOP a schooling lesson if you will. Unscripted i might add in front of 140 Republicans. Is it due to the Republicans being sooo wrong since 2000 up til now, they have to say that to look good. I'll bet my Platinum and Gold investments on it. I'm not talking pennies either
Hmm. More respect than I usually have for Chris. He stuck to his guns to that moron Cantor, who should be on a street corner with a cup.
Cantor, you'll recall, was the one responding to a text message while the president was talking about the health crisis. Yeah, he's got an impressive attention span.
Man what a wimp.Every time this eric canter talks I swear I hear in the background hurry up and get some tissues the sissy is crying again. And why does this girley man think it's his place to say if a woman is able to have a abortion or not. What business is it of yours if it's not your child.O eric their is approximately 500.000 kids waiting to be adopted now how many do you have. And stop whining
I fail to see how strawmanning somebody is a legitimate means of interview.
Cantor was right. Blaming people isn't going to save peoples' jobs. What Bush did is virtually identical to what Obama is doing, with one exception: Bush dumped the money into the private sector while Obama dumped it into the public sector. Bush might have done idiotic things, it's not as if Obama is any real improvement.
He doesn't even answer the question and typically spins it to make his party look wonderful! Sheesh! I think it's a main reason why the GOP will NEVER be a majority again!

do the democrats still support the president that supports total nationalisation of all privately owned businesses?...SI si muy gusto..they love it..mathews is a douchebag
Isn't it GREAT watching the GOP fall apart & disintegrate into a HUGE pile of smelly shit?
One has to wonder what the members of the GOP enjoy better....LOSING 55 Senate & House Seats in a 2 year period OR being in exile at their respective FLDS Compounds? LOL!
dude...fuck democrats and fuck republicans...all of them are corrupt businessmen who care more about sucking off wall street then ensuring the welfare of the american people. i'm sick of politicians, i'm sick of bailouts, i'm sick of this liberal vs. conservative bullshit. the only enemy that we have in america is ignorance.
We know Ersin Faikzade as a good write and a artistic character. He have been confessed with his projects what has voluntarily carried out for disabled people. by give of concerts and write texts for magazines, he confessed this way confessed with his cultural and helpful character for many people in Europe and also in United Kingdom
Chris Mathews has his moments. This video was posted last September. As long as we were in the same administration, "Hell yes," I say...point fingers, because coming together as a nation, ceasing with "finger" pointing and such, should not be a scapegoat for failing to analyze where and why things went wrong. Someone needs to remind Senator Cantor that being a public servant means being held accountable, not pretending things didn't happen.
I really can't believe who slimey Republicans are...to be so good at lying and ducking questions, and to be able to do it with such a pompous smile on his face...it never ceases to amaze me that the people of America let them get away with it.

why do guys like you jump into the post whenever they see or hear the word "cock"? just come out of the closet!..do you get a thrill up your leg when you see nobama like Chrissy too?
SHAMELESS! Don't you just hate it when politicians avoid answering questions? I guess it fools their constituents, or else they wouldn't be in office.
Republicans always try to dodge their fuck-ups by saying "we should stop finger pointing". Now is the time to finger point at Republicans and hold them accountable!!!
Cantor is just as crazy as McCain they think they and their can run away with not accepting responsibility for the mess we now have. Bush is hiding in the White House waiting for it to all be over and he can go back to Texas and make real money as an ex-President. Cheney is well, doing what he has done for the last 4 years, he is missing in action!
Cantor is spineless and embarrassing. Virginians should be ashamed to have given him their voice, especially considering the fact that the state has some excellent conservative minds.
Cantor is in a perpetual fog. So he's a Repub? He can't even seem to acknowledge this fact; now he just runs and hides like a coward. How shameful is that? Greedy, incompetent, power-lust deceivers like Cantor and McStain are the reasons the entire country got flushed and went swirling. This guy needs to learn some humility & apologize & beg forgiveness for his cowardly lies. How can he dare not avert his eyes from his family & every citizen? Is there no honor left in the Republican Party?
I haven't seen someone dodge questions like that since Sarah Palin in the last VP debate. Just makes the republicans look like the scum of the earth that they are.

Chris Mathews is a Democrat, he was supporting Hillary after she lost to Obama, Now he's supporting Obama, of course he has to support his party by grilling the Republicans and trying to blame and shoot the gun at them.
Al right agreed republicans are the cause, after Obama was the presidential nominee for democrats why is Chris Mathews not going after the Democrats also, since he's so after the republicans ass.Man these channels NBC, CNN, MSNBC,NY times, Time, are democratic propaganda outlets
Keeping your citizens under total internet surveillance what a great idea and then tell them its because you are afraid of another terror attack. A terror attack that was planned from the inside.

wow........ how hard is it to answer a question? Is this guy republican? He did not answer one question.........straight. Such a dodger, his husband must hate him. He most likely never gets a straight answer from this flat head.
Mccain has had every kind of skin cancer, hes had it 4 times , what if he dies,,,??? a hockey mom from Alaska will now be in charge of the most powerful gov. in the world. She cant even govern her own house. A daughter out of marriage 17 pregnant !!! scary.
phlash: Are you nuts? She's raised two superbs sons and her daughter gets pregnant (getting married soon)...and you conclude she "can't govern her own house". Have you raised teenagers? Give it a try sometime and you won't be so smug.
And re MC's health, I'll chance it. I'd rather take the inexperience in the VP slot that have an untested young rookie as Pres from day 1. BO is completely untested at this level and has a wafer-thin resume. If "experience" is your argument, you MUST vote for MC
"If "experience" is your argument, you MUST vote for MC"
I don't think you watched the video you're commenting on... McSame is Bush v2.0, they're in denial about the republican failures and they won't man up to their mistakes.
Palin is a joke... they won't let her speak to the press because the press is not sensitive enough and might hurt her feelings. The McCain campaign is turning into a communist Shar-Ade where the agenda is how to silence the media.
ozpower: I reject your claim that MC is the same as Bush. Sure, they're both Reps, but Bush is a religious conservative, and MC is a fiscal conservative. Big difference.
MC is far from perfect, but at least he's "the devil I know". I have no idea who/what Obama is. Nothing but vague bullshit rhetoric, and NO voting record for me to look at. I think he's very far Left...but who the hell really knows. Your position is to "give him a try" and hope it works out Ok. Not with my tax dollars, pal.
Bush's address of the union: "We all know the painful choices ahead if America stays on this path:... crippling deficits. I've laid out proposals to reform these programs." Seems like he's a fiscal conservative trying to cut the deficit. Let's look at some "Fiscal Conservatives" Reagan $200+ billion deficit Bush 1 $300+ billion deficit Some "Tax and Spend Liberals" Clinton $200+ billion SURPLUS Some more "Fiscal Conservatives" Bush 2 $482 billion deficit McSame is THE SAME!
You ROCK! TOTALLY AGREE!! I wouldn't give my personal checkbook to ANY Republican!!! (They must be color blind - you know, seeing black instead of RED...LOL!)
oz: I actually lived through Reagan/Clinton. I also know more about economic issues than you do based on my education/work experience.
Reagan had deficits because he rejuvinated our moribund military while making huge tax cuts. The economy grew wildly.
Clinton cut deficits because he downsized the military by 1/3 (the Peace Dividend) and because the investment of trillions by the private sector in info tech (LANs, PCs) resulted in huge productivity increases in the 90s.
Well it seems like you're pretty well informed... I just can't believe an informed person like you actually believes McCain will actually be a fiscal conservative and there will be a wiser spending of the tax money.
I don't want to sound like a McCain hater or Obama groupie, but logic and history have shown us what Bush did after he ran pretty much an identical campaign to that of McCain, and McCain has made it clear that he has approved of Bush 90% of the time...
oz: 1/2: As I've said repeatedly, I tend to take campaign promises/talk with a grain of salt. All candidates pander and make promises to get votes. The only thing to do is look at their voting record and history to see what they REALLY believe. I think McCain:
-Is a fiscal conservative of the cost cutting (not tax cutting) variety. IMO he'll push hard to reduce govt spending.
-Is no religious or social issue conservative. He panders to the Rep base, but these issues are low priority for him.
I can't comment on how socially conservative McCain really IS, but I'm concerned when he repeats the Bush talking points.
"Is no religious or social issue conservative."
But he picked a religious conservative for his running mate...
Most Hispanics are voting for Obama, I don't think they trust McCain.
McCain has been making bad judgments for the past 8 years, voting 90% with Bush, it's hard to change that record for the future... I just don't buy it. At least you're making informed choices.
oz: Yes, MC picked a social conservative as a running mate. He had to, in order to satisfy his Base (all the more proof that MC himself is not a true conservative).
43% of hispanics voted for Bush in '04. Less will vote for MC this time. But...MC doesn't need a majority, just needs to get a reasonable %. And the Reps MUST make inroads with hispanics in the future. They'll be 25% of our population by 2050.
But, my main issue is that Obama is too far Left. Too risky for me.
Reps CAN'T make inroads with Hispanics, the social conservatives won't let them... to the social conservatives Hispanics are the scapegoats for all of the problems.
You can't make friends with a person who just got 1/2 of his family deported by your administration... it just doesn't work that way. They want to be tough on immigration yet they want to be friends with the Hispanics, something's got to give, can't have it both ways...
oz: 1/2: Last year Bush supported legislation that had broad support in the Senate and among Dems in the House. It would have allowed ALL 20M illegal aliens to stay in the country...after registering, paying a nominal fine, and waiting in line for eventual citizenship. McCain wholeheartedly supported this and lobbied very hard for it.
The House Reps rejected the deal and the conservative Base hounded McCain like a dog. Now McCain's position is the border must be secured first.
oz: So MC changed his position a bit. He still supports the original Bush legislation...just modified his position (based on Rep/public feedback) that borders must be secured as a first step. Obama has changed plenty of his positions too. Plenty of them.
Don't forget the Reps are a political party. As soon as they start to lose power, they'll modify their ideology to attract more voters. The extreme Right wing will be pushed further to the margin as the Party becomes more Centrist.
"Don't forget the Reps are a political party. As soon as they start to lose power, they'll modify their ideology to attract more voters. The extreme Right wing will be pushed further to the margin as the Party becomes more Centrist."
I hope so, else the Republican party will look like a circus... well thanks for the chat, I appreciate the fact that we had a respectful conversation :), Good luck in November :)
oz: 2/2: The Reps must stick to Bush's immigration plan and find a way to appeal to Hispanic voters. You say they can't, I say they must.
And yes, McCain's campaign suspension is stunt to (1) make him appear to be a decisive leader who personally takes action in a crisis, and (2) someone who puts the nation's interest ahead of his own political ambitions.
IMO the debates will happen as scheduled or with a brief delay. The debate on the economy will decide the election.
And watch his last stunts... Palin is screwing up left and right, she was on with Katie Couric and all she could do was repeat talking points. Katie made a GREAT point: McCain has been for deregulation for the past 26 years, so why the sudden switch FOR regulation? And Palin was stumped...
Now he's suspending his campaign? Nice political stunt, but a true president doesn't quit, rather he sticks to his guns and toughs it out... he's been through worse in Vietnam, what's different now?
-Will expand the Rep base to appeal to women/hispanics. One of the few sane Reps who understand they must grow their base to remain viable.
-Excellent record of bi-partisanship. Exactly what we need to move forward on all issue.
Obama is an intelligent gentleman, but he simply has no record to go by to determine what his real beliefs are. Charisma and moving speeches aren't enough for me. Not in a time of war and fiscal crisis.
All you do is make comments on talking points you've read or heard. Anyone could do that. It sounds as though you are a last minute voter, as most people are.
You have no subtance to your argument. Just a bunch of campaign ads. You really need to do some research and find what is the truth.
You post a lot, make it worth your time. So far everyone is laughing at you...
abonko: Oh dear! Someone is laughing at me??!! I'm sooo insecure.
I don't do "talking points". Get it? Got it?
And as far a arguments about "no substance", read your last post. No specifics on where you disagree with me at all.
I've been voting since 1976 and have never missed a Pres or Congressional election. I listen to the talking heads every night and follow this stuff closely. And I live in a big midwest swing state where my McCain vote will really make a difference.
Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract empty rhetoric devoid of real substance. What has Obama done? Well he wrote two Memoirs about himself, but I think thats what Hollywood does anyway just sink into a vat of endless Narcistic tripe for others to worship.
imgottie: Actually you forgot his biggest accomplishment which is running for office. It's what he does best.
Reminds me of a woman I knew in the Federal Govt. The minute she got a job, she would start prepping her resume for a promotion. She spent a huge amount of time interviewing, taking courses/training (to pad her resume), and scheming how to move up the ladder another rung. Doing her actual job was not a high priority for her.
hung: I don't think MC has a smirk at all. But even if he does, I'll take it any day over Obama's mumbling and constant string of: "ummmm", "errrr", and "you know". The man gives a good set speech, but in normal conversation I can't stand to listen to him.
I like this Chris Matthews guy. Very assertive and intelligent, not like whiney O'Reilly who gets mad like a woman on her period when someone doesnt answer his loaded question.
Since the New Deal, Republicans have been on the wrong side of every issue of concern to ordinary Americans; Social Security, the war in Vietnam, equal rights, civil liberties, church- state separation, consumer issues, public education, reproductive freedom, national health care, labor issues, gun policy, campaign-finance reform, the environment
I really want McCain to win, because it will mean that the unbeatable comedy that we have witnessed over the last 8 years can continue unabated. Its kept me and millions of other people entertained with top rate material.Bush will be gone, but his legacy will still be alive.Bomb- bomb- bomb----bomb-bomb- Iran ---HILARIOUS!!!!
hung: Yes, if the Reps win the election it will be 8 years of unrestrained bile from John Stewart, Bill Maher, Letterman, and the rest of the "comedians". Their stuff on Bush is soooo funny!!
On the other hand, if Obama wins, the comics will be hard pressed to find material because you know they'll never poke fun at Saint Barrack. In fact, instead of comedic sketches they'll probably devote their shows to ignoring every Obama fuck-up and rationalizing his Leftist agenda.
No political party could remain so consistently wrong by accident.
The only rational conclusion is that, despite their cynical "family values" propaganda, the Republican Party is a criminal conspiracy to betray the interests of the American people
in favor of plutocratic and corporate interests, and absolutist religious groups.
The moronic Republican fucktards are laughable! This is a perfect example that Republicans do not take accountability for their fuck ups. During the Clinton administration the country was in the best shape it ever had been probably in it's existence, and I bet this thimble dick fucktard didn't have an issue pointing fingers then, and that was just cause he got a head job. Fucking hypocrites!!
Oh STFU with the BS already..bottom line, before the republicans came into power in 2000..the nation was at a 250+ seurplus, we are now close to a trillion dollar debt. The last time this nation went into a depression it was under a republican administration..and now that the country is two steps away from econonmic armagaton, the republicans are in power. Imagine that? This is why some people have a problem with the GOP, cause they act as if they didn't do sh*t wrong these past 8 yrs!!
Clinton is the one that deregulated everything. The democrats have been the ones to stop republicans from reforming the franksteain that is fannie and freddie, which is directly what lead to this mess.
Thank the dems and the handful of repubs that helped them block reform. Oh, and a note to the Obama morons, john mccain is the one that proposed the reform, meanwhi;le Obama was stuffing his pockets full of Fannie and fredie money.
2 years of 50 democrats & independents + Joe Liberman + 49 republicans in Senate, + Bush's veto power is hardly a democrats controlled congress. 11 out of 12 of Bush's vetoes were after 2007, when the democrats gained slight majority in the Senate. And the filibustering republicans complaints about democrats not accomplishing much in 2 years?
Oh please...bottom line is the Democrats only controlled congress for 2 of the 8 years the republicans were in power. By the time the democrates took control of congress too much damage had already been done. Republicans can continue to come up with every lie and excuse in the book but the fact still remains that before Bush took office, we were at a $250 BILLION dollar surplus... we are now over a TRILLION dollars in det. Those are FACTS, I don't understand how people can argue against facts.
that was unintentional ownage by Chris Matthews right there, Cantor could have just said Bush ran this country into the ground but the guy we have now opposed many of the destructive Bush policies and there is a new GOP brand on the block willing to change up to end the problems. But instead he decided to try to weasel his way out of responsibility and Matthews skewed him.
take responsibilty you GOP ASSHOLE, YOUR PARTY ARE CROOKS AND HAVE GOT EVEN MORE RICH WHILE RIPPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. NOW YOU WANT US TO PAY FOR THE SHIT...
DON'T EVEN TRY TO BLAME THIS SHIT ON OBAMA OR ANY DEMOCRATES. STOP SCAPEGOATING THE QUESTION YOU CROOKED S.O.B.
Yes let the voters see what Obama is saying about this. Why doesn't CNN actually give him some coverage for once? And they aren't showing Biden or Michelle or any of the other people that are speaking on behalf of Obama. They are all there speaking for Obama. CNN needs to show this and cover this election fairly!!!
Obama is only going to raise taxes on 5% of Americans. The other 95% is going to get tax breaks. Republicans are evil, plain and simple. This guy said "let's stop pointing the finger". So he's basically saying that we shouldn't hold the president responsible for the problems in this country.
Now you know what it feels like when O'Reilly is bulldozing people he thinks are in the wrong. Bottom line: Republicans will never admit what a disaster the Bush mis-administration has been. That's right, keep repeating it, so you truly believe it: "The economy is vibrant.Bush has no connections to the Bin Ladens or the Saudis.Brownie did a great job with Katrina. The Taliban is weaker now.Saddam was the next Hitler.Give up your freedoms to secure freedom.War is Peace."
The REPUBLICANS brought this country to the brink. When will you idiots get it?! These past 8 years will probably go down as the worst 8 years in American history. From 9/11 to this misguided war we've been in for 7 years to Hurricane Katrina to almost coming to a depretion. The republicans had their shot and they failed miserably!! Get them the hell out of here before they turn us into a 3rd world country...its the end of an era. GTFOH!!
Again, I think that both parties are socialist and will sell out the American people. I absolutely agree: the purchase of all of these businesses by your socialist president, the fed, and the democratic congress, is a level of socialism that will crush generations of young people under spiraling debt. Fannie & Freddie were told BY THE GOVERNMENT, Democrats & Republicans both, to loan money to minorities who would not otherwise qualify for mortgages. SOCIALISM started this crisis!
I can't wait for the revolution. Who do you think will win?
Chris Mathews who doesn't own a gun, or the freedom fighters who defeated the british, freed the slaves, defeated fascism, defeated communism, IS defeating theocracy...hmmm.
Cowards who give blowjobs for extra rice like Mathews or people who believe in freedom and will enforce it with a gun.
Defeating theocracy? What do you think the Right Wing of the Republican party really wants? Democracy? Yeah, as long as their unconstitutional agenda of mixing church and state gets advanced in the name of their idea of God.
"Cowards like Mathews"? How about hypocrites like Craig who troll for sex in public bathrooms looking for the chance to give blowjobs while denying what is plain as day to the rest of the world.
Deregulation is the cause for this economic meltdown, all experts agree. McCain and the republicans were screaming for more deregulation throughout this entire election until conveniently a week ago. What a surprise.
Stop giving mavericks a bad name you flip flopping bastard!!!
By the way, I tried to post a comment, and azsk a question on his websight. It says to write to him, and because of "security" concerns, it takes a long time to get your letter delivered. But if you want to contribute to him you can get right through.
Also remember that McCain supported Bush's idea of funneling Social Security into banks like Bear Sternes, Merryl-Lynch, and Lehman Brothers.
Imagine the CATASTROPHE that would be on the heads of MILLIONS of Americans, had that plan not been scrapped and called on its short-sighted foolishness.
Do not put John McCain in office. Your future depends on it.
The Republicans have run this country into the ground, yes, but Democrats, and Americans, in general, let them get away with it.
John McCain sat on the Commerce Committee and allowed all this deregulation and decreased oversight to go through, leading up to the current economic crisis we're going through.
Do the right thing, America. Get rid of these greedy criminals who've left the taxpayers holding the bag when the chickens come home to roost.
"Chris.....George W. Bush was driving the car. We were happy with his driving, but once we noticed George W Bush was driving over the cliff, WE jumped out of the car, now George W Bush is in this car alone."
Matthews is just carrying the water for the Democrats who have been equally as guilty of spending money and corrupting the financial system as the Republicans.
I'm still puzzled how Cantor has achieved anything meaningful in his life. What a disaster of a human he is.

You want more of the McSame?
ozpowermo 3 years ago
ozpower: I reject your claim that MC is the same as Bush. Sure, they're both Reps, but Bush is a religious conservative, and MC is a fiscal conservative. Big difference.

countess16 3 years ago
oz: I actually lived through Reagan/Clinton.
Bush? No excuse.
JohnR22926 3 years ago
Well it seems like you're pretty well informed... I just can't believe an informed person like you actually believes McCain will actually be a fiscal conservative and there will be a wiser spending of the tax money.
I don't want to sound like a McCain hater or Obama groupie, but logic and history have shown us what Bush did after he ran pretty much an identical campaign to that of McCain, and McCain has made it clear that he has approved of Bush 90% of the time...
ozpowermo 3 years ago
oz: 1/2: As I've said repeatedly, I tend to take campaign promises/talk with a grain of salt.
JohnR22926 3 years ago
I can't comment on how socially conservative McCain really IS, but I'm concerned when he repeats the Bush talking points.
"Is no religious or social issue conservative."
But he picked a religious conservative for his running mate...
Most Hispanics are voting for Obama, I don't think they trust McCain.
McCain has been making bad judgments for the past 8 years, voting 90% with Bush, it's hard to change that record for the future... I just don't buy it. At least you're making informed choices.
ozpowermo 3 years ago
oz: Yes, MC picked a social conservative as a running mate.
JohnR22926 3 years ago
Reps CAN'T make inroads with Hispanics, the social conservatives won't let them... to the social conservatives Hispanics are the scapegoats for all of the problems.
You can't make friends with a person who just got 1/2 of his family deported by your administration... it just doesn't work that way. They want to be tough on immigration yet they want to be friends with the Hispanics, something's got to give, can't have it both ways...
ozpowermo 3 years ago
oz: 1/2: Last year Bush supported legislation that had broad support in the Senate and among Dems in the House.
JohnR22926 3 years ago
"Now McCain's position is the border must be secured first."
He can't play both sides AT THE SAME TIME, people see right through that and expose him.
"The Reps must stick to Bush's immigration plan and find a way to appeal to Hispanic voters. You say they can't, I say they must."
They really CAN'T do it without the conservative base's support, and you know that will NEVER happen.
As I pointed out McCain has been through tougher times in Vietnam... the economy will not kill him.
ozpowermo 3 years ago
oz: So MC changed his position a bit.
JohnR22926 3 years ago
"Don't forget the Reps are a political party. As soon as they start to lose power, they'll modify their ideology to attract more voters. The extreme Right wing will be pushed further to the margin as the Party becomes more Centrist."
I hope so, else the Republican party will look like a circus... well thanks for the chat, I appreciate the fact that we had a respectful conversation :), Good luck in November :)
ozpowermo 3 years ago
oz: 2/2: The Reps must stick to Bush's immigration plan and find a way to appeal to Hispanic voters.
JohnR22926 3 years ago
And watch his last stunts... Palin is screwing up left and right, she was on with Katie Couric and all she could do was repeat talking points. Katie made a GREAT point: McCain has been for deregulation for the past 26 years, so why the sudden switch FOR regulation? And Palin was stumped...
Now he's suspending his campaign? Nice political stunt, but a true president doesn't quit, rather he sticks to his guns and toughs it out... he's been through worse in Vietnam, what's different now?
ozpowermo 3 years ago
oz; 2/2:
-Will expand the Rep base to appeal to women/hispanics. One of the few sane Reps who understand they must grow their base to remain viable.
-Excellent record of bi-partisanship. Exactly what we need to move forward on all issue.
Obama is an intelligent gentleman, but he simply has no record to go by to determine what his real beliefs are. Charisma and moving speeches aren't enough for me. Not in a time of war and fiscal crisis.
Just my opinions. :-)

Well he wrote two Memoirs about himself, but I think thats what Hollywood does anyway just sink into a vat of endless Narcistic tripe for others to worship.
imgottie 3 years ago
imgottie: Actually you forgot his biggest accomplishment which is running for office. It's what he does best.
Reminds me of a woman I knew in the Federal Govt. The minute she got a job, she would start prepping her resume for a promotion.

GTFOH!!

You know that the Democrats blocked everything that our President wanted to do.
Reid and Pelosie fought him tooth and nail. So what is up. Chris Matthews is an idiot.
4U2TakeBackAmerica 3 years ago
For six years Bush had a majority Rep. congress who let him do as he pleased.
Why can't the Republicans take responsibility for that fact? Sure, it's all the Dems fault.
Whatever, believe what you want, but you're not fooling anyone except other Reps.
KUBRICKHAL9000 3 years ago 2
Its great to rail on something when you know what your talking about. Chris Matthews does'nt have a clue and sounds like an arguing fool.
4U2TakeBackAmerica 3 years ago
Mathews is annoying in pushing his lies. What a Democratic hack. Rep. Canter made him look like a fool.

Hey, SharpenedPen, you do realize that government takeover of big corporation, as was done today is the height of socialism, right?
And it was done by a Republican President.
Beware, Republicans! John McCain is a trojan horse.
AllStarKase 3 years ago
Again, I think that both parties are socialist and will sell out the American people. I absolutely agree: the purchase of all of these businesses by your socialist president, the fed, and the democratic congress, is a level of socialism that will crush generations of young people under spiraling debt. Fannie & Freddie were told BY THE GOVERNMENT, Democrats & Republicans both, to loan money to minorities who would not otherwise qualify for mortgages. SOCIALISM started this crisis!
TheSharpenedPen 3 years ago
I can't wait for the revolution. Who do you think will win?
Chris Mathews who doesn't own a gun, or the freedom fighters who defeated the british, freed the slaves, defeated fascism, defeated communism, IS defeating theocracy...hmmm.
Cowards who give blowjobs for extra rice like Mathews or people who believe in freedom and will enforce it with a gun.
Pick you side fuck face.
alienmoonbase 3 years ago
Defeating theocracy? What do you think the Right Wing of the Republican party really wants? Democracy? Yeah, as long as their unconstitutional agenda of mixing church and state gets advanced in the name of their idea of God.
"Cowards like Mathews"? How about hypocrites like Craig who troll for sex in public bathrooms looking for the chance to give blowjobs while denying what is plain as day to the rest of the world.

Chris Mathews is a complete coward. He never attacks Islam. He only criticizes safe targets? why? because he is a COWARD!
He is the guy who gives blowjobs foe extra rice in prison. Fucking worm.
A total coward and a disgrace.

Why are there still people supporting the Republicans?
Each and every one of them is a lying, insufferable douchebag. Each and every freaking one of them.
I'm at a loss here.

Deregulation is the cause for this economic meltdown, all experts agree. McCain and the republicans were screaming for more deregulation throughout this entire election until conveniently a week ago. What a surprise.
Stop giving mavericks a bad name you flip flopping bastard!!!

Rep. Cantor makes Polyanna look like a pessimist. He is blind, ansd believes the American people are ignorant.

By the way, I tried to post a comment, and azsk a question on his websight. It says to write to him, and because of "security" concerns, it takes a long time to get your letter delivered. But if you want to contribute to him you can get right through.
wabphd 3 years ago
Also remember that McCain supported Bush's idea of funneling Social Security into banks like Bear Sternes, Merryl-Lynch, and Lehman Brothers.
Imagine the CATASTROPHE that would be on the heads of MILLIONS of Americans, had that plan not been scrapped and called on its short-sighted foolishness.
Do not put John McCain in office. Your future depends on it.
AllStarKase 3 years ago
The Republicans have run this country into the ground, yes, but Democrats, and Americans, in general, let them get away with it.
John McCain sat on the Commerce Committee and allowed all this deregulation and decreased oversight to go through, leading up to the current economic crisis we're going through.
Do the right thing, America. Get rid of these greedy criminals who've left the taxpayers holding the bag when the chickens come home to roost.

WHERE THE REPUBLICANS ARE?
• They are in the blogs deleting pro-Obama comments.
• They are in T.V. exaggerating the lame qualifications of their leaders.
• They are in towns repeating the same obvious lies.
• They are in Alaska preventing the due process of an investigation.
• They are in their fallacious world crying that the fundamentals are strong, without understanding what that means.
