@dondijazz Very, very good player! But unfortunately, not an intuitve player like the greats! A lot of cliches! An example of an intuitive player who is unknown is jazz guitarist George Garcia who plays Cole Porter's "I love you" on channel mrgv2019! Check him out and you will understand what I mean! No memorized lines here!
You know, this would sound so much prettier...and smooth, it were played exactly like this...but at a slower speed, so some of the notes could ring more and would not get 'chopped' off. Taylor's a WONDERFUL player...but I see many of these guys, so talented as they are...want to speed it, which is a detriment to the music quality.
Martin changes the F7 flat 5 chord to something else and I don't know what it is does anyone know. It's the F7 flat 5 before the resolution to G major, before he cycles from the tritone in 4ths, to get to his little groove.
In regards to speed and wanting to hear this better...I think most of the problem is the fidelity of this youtube recording...it's a bit muffled. (Unless my spekers are going!)
Yes, it's a hollow-body acoustic electric guitar, if that makes sense.
It's basically an acoustic with a floating pickup. The end of the fretboard floats above the body of the guitar, and the pickup is secured onto it. Otherwise, if the pickup were mounted INTO the guitar's body, it would dampen the acoustic feel.
..I bet that he has played this tune once or twice before,,,he seems pretty much `at home` with it,,,I think that I like it ,,immensely...BRAVO..Martin..!!
truely one of the greatest guitar masters of all time...great arrangements and improvises within, true jazz guitar, not just chord melody worked out. i play a bit
I think you are the one who has to grow up if you can't take a little critical comment made in an intelligent fashion. I don't see how these two need to grow up, they are having a mature conversation, they state their opinions, which everyone is entitled to. They're not insulting Martin Taylor in any way. So please, grow up.
Martin Taylor is definately a great player. Loads of technique, feel, and tone, but unfortuenately I think this is a horrible rendition of the song. It sounds stilted and awkward. The tempo is too fast for this arrangement and the melody is lost in the incesent wanking.
Fantastic rendition, beautifully sweet, almost acoustic tone, Really liked the pedal tone riffing in the middle too...nice touch. Only problem- it fades out too soon!!
wonderful. Taylor's best play!

@wookieproductions When he plays with Max Martin, he uses a Martin. When he's with Taylor Hicks, he prefers Taylor.
