-- last month this just happened to me with the red screen thingy. I turned on my PS3 and the next thing I knew was my damn PS3 was japanese! I found this book and it helped me get it working again pretty quick and avoided sending it to sony! Maybe it could help you too :-)

Its suppose to say the waring thing it happens in all ps3. and it frezzes too very rarely online only due to online players and the ipod touchdoesnt get internet connection because it comes to that stage sometimes its the nature of the ipod you need to get it to the app store doctor . But dont worry bro your ps3 is working perfectly fine!!!!!!!!

I haven't had this problem, so I know nothing about it, but chances are the PS3 doesn't like being plugged into a TV via both optical and HDMI, so try unplugging the optical cables and see where that gets you.

Have you try to reset the system to it normal setting this is how you do it you hold the power bottom for 3 second the first two touchs you do its going to turn off the ps 3 the 3 time you do it it should make to beeps and you will see 5 options press x and it should make your ps good as new but how ever just a worning you save will lose your save game!

The red screen of death is a critical os error just like the blue screen of death. usually(if all you get is rsod no xmb ect) it is caused by a corrupted NAND Flash, Where the PS3OS is saved, atm there is NO fix for this(Due to the nand being locked) other than sending it back to sony...

@stevenspelberg yes, but if the cause is the hard drive, you can simply remove the hard drive and continue playing the x-box until you buy another hard drive. if its the x-box itself having problems then you can keep the hard drive since its easily removable while sending the console over so you dont lose any data. my 2nd one still uses the 1st one's hard drive

the ps3 on the other hand if its the hard drive or the console you have to send the entire console regardless since its not removable.

i know how to fix it!!!

1st. you turn it off from the back and turn it on again

2nd. you hold the power button until it makes 3 beeps

4th. you hold it until it does 3 beeps again (you should have a menu with 6 choices)

5th. connect your control to the usb charger thing and press X

the prob is if you got a usb headsett it vill not hapen with les its an old model ps3 but if you have a blutoth headsett it WIll HAPEN ok?
