The music give me the chills in a good way but their love is true and so strong plus sooooo romantic "I'll always be with you forever" John Smith and Pocahontas forever and EVR love -3
even though DIsney wanted to make it more historical by making Pocahontas 2, they should've known that we didn't want a history lesson. Cartoons are for fun and for firing up your imagination. That's what fantasy is all about.
Fuck The Sequel and Fuck Rolfe. Disney fucked up by making that bullshit sequel. This movie was a big part of my childhood. and I was so fucking angry and disgusted when I saw the sequel. I'm a dude and I cried with both Smith and Pocahontas as a kid. So Fuck the sequel it don't exist in my opinion.
in my world, the sequel doesn't exist. Disney just forgot about what it stands for. True love and connection. Not "historical correctness". Disney are movies to give hope to children growing up and about telling stories of love and the connection between two people, stories of the world they live in, they shouldn't have tried to be fucking documentary.
Smith is way better than Rolfe!!!!!!! Smith was determined to die for both Pocahontas and her father, Can't believe Pocahontas forgot that in the sequel. Stupid Rofle and Stupid Sequel. I wish the Sequel would have never ever existed at all. Good thing Disney still acknowlodges Smith and Pocahontas as a couple. =)
the first movie is soooo much better than the second. it's actually kind of disappointing! i was looking forward to see pocahontas with john smith in the second movie! :(
@PreseaRose It's the instrumental of the song "If I Never Knew You", a song that was cut from the final version of Pocahontas. It was meant to play during this song, with both John and Pocahontas singing, but it was cut after the test audience found it boring and that it cut into the action.
The scene with this song can be found on Youtube. Just search for "Pocahontas - If I Never Knew You"
ever since i was little, john smith has hands down been my favorite animated man ever! i loved that we had the same last name. he was my very first crush (at the tender age of 3) and he's still one of the most handsome men i've ever seen. he's just the epitome of manhood. he's the only blonde haired blue eyed guy i've ever liked (except for my current crush, who i've even nicknamed john smith). i have been pocahontas for halloween 6 times. still looking for a john smith of my own :)
Wtf did pocahontas end up with the rolfe dude? They're so close here, it makes me melt inside!! Especially when he kissed her hannnddd...aahhhh. oh my goodness, it's so beautiful i want to go back and watch the movie~
"I'd rather die tomorrow, than live a hundred years without knowing you." Gah!!....get's me every time! *wipes away tear* Where are the John Smith's of 2010??
Obviously, this isn't how the story goes, but hey, Disney makes most depressing or sad stories into great ones. For some reason.. this music and the scene itself makes me wanna cry, and when he says that speech, my heart always flutters and my throat gets tight. I always kinda hope someone can say that to me in reality and mean it. Oh, Disney magic~
"I'd rather die tomorrow, than live a hundred years without knowing you." If a man said those words to me and meant them, surely, I would melt... I was definetly born in the wrong time period lol.
I really think the creaters of the second movie should have watched the first Pocahontas before trying to go make it all historically correct. Look at the powerful love and connection John Smith has with Pocahontas in the movie? How could you go from that to loving someone else? They made us all think that this was true love. If they wanted the movies to be historically correct then they should of never made these two fall in love like this. It breaks my heart! :(
@7SuMmErSwEeTiE7 I agree, because historical correctness is like a fool who ruins a movie by telling us how it ends. Those fools are the direct to video makers, because by replacing Smith with Rolfe, they risked the exposure of Pocahontas' world! Well I say there are some things we don't want to know, important things!
@7SuMmErSwEeTiE7 yeah! i totally agree the 1st movie totally bullshitted wat actually happened so i dont get y they suddenly hav 2 b all correct it ruined evrythin!
@7SuMmErSwEeTiE7 And you are definitely not the only one who thinks so...this scene is absolutely magical,dashing...and the sequel just ruined everything we grew up to...
Wow, I never noticed he kissed her hand at the end, and I've seen this movie many times. LOL! I wonder if it's a carry-over from when "If I Never Knew You" was originally intended for this scene. At the end of the song, Pocahontas sees John's and her reflection on the water and he takes her hand and kisses it before disappearing.
Well, these are the original voices. I think it all comes down to what you're used to. For instance, I've watched some from the Finnish version on here, and I found the voices grating. But that may just be 'cause I'm used to English.
i agree to you, i like john smith MUCH MUCH more than rolfe. but do you read the book "pocahontas" from susan donnell? she explains her true historic story (and stuff she thinks it was like of course xD) and pocahontas really was with john rolfe, so the second movie is kinda true. but i dont like him anyway :D
@tasidasi My friend you are mistaken there is no second moive, it never happened, it doesn't exist. All us Pocahontas fans thought they did make a second one but it was really just a figment of our immagination lol
I mean sure the song's lovely but without this scene is a LOT more powerful and moving, sometimes we don't need singing in a way it spoiled this scene just prolonged it too much and took away the intended feeling of the scene
It's definatley better for the movie like this, why can't people see that?
Thanks for posting I'm so glad this is still up here

According to history, Pocahontas and John Smith probably never even met. Besides, she was around nine years old at the time.
