@cril1001001. The Italians have been crazy about Genesis since 1971. In fact Genesis albums used to sell better in Italy than in UK in the days of Tresspass, Nursery Cryme, etc.
Of course they skip the part of Cinema Show that gives you chills at the end and instead transition into an altered version of Riding the Scree. That was one of the big differences between Gabriel Genesis and Collins Genesis. Gabriel Genesis would hit all the moods and atmospheres that made you think or gave you chills and Collins Genesis (at least in the 80s) either skipped those atmospheres or changed them to something more happy go lucky. I guess it all depends on your taste. I prefer Gabriel
It's so cool this crowd actually knows the old stuff well enough to sing along with the keyboard parts. Here in the USA, I didn't feel that most of the crowd had any idea what they were hearing.
@CribNotes: I hear ya. I was at all 3 Canadian shows and there were plenty of people sitting on their hands (with the exception of Montreal - the best audience by far) probably waiting for No Son of Mine and not knowing what the heck the other 'fluff' was.
well according to Roger Waters and the casus belli that gave start to "The Wall" concept it isn't like that, sometimes instead of leaving their mind fly they start fireworks during songs and get drunk shouting..
I agree with Dorsetbay: This is "the song" of "the albun" of Genesis all time. I was 10 yrs in 1971 and i was mesmerized. Perfect ! []'s from Brazil !!!
One of my favourite Genesis songs. Perhaps *the* favourite. It was great to see the band play it again after thirty years. I wish I'd been in Rome to see it one more time. Thank you for posting.
(I stopped watching the video because I don't feel right watching bootleg videos, but) I wanted to reply to your comment on Phil's drumming on SEBTP...Phil's 70's drumming inspires me...after listening to his (creative) drumming on NC through TLLDOB, his (still creative) drumming just seemed tighter on SEBTP (and the album production seemed crisper to me)...I imagine that many non-Genesis fans (and even some Genesis fans) would rate Phil's drumming skills on his (toned-down) 80's playing...
ok how many of you try & sing the keyboard solos - lol I do I always get lost in the fast passages I just wing it & go wiggle my tongue whilst saying buh-luh-luh-luh-luh-luh-luh as fast as I can.
totally unrelated but I need to share this coz its equally as interesting as everyone elses comments. My zip fly has YKK stamped on it. Why not check yours?
@mooghammondb3 Nobody is foolish enough to bring that unreliable old junk on the road anymore. Without question he got rid of that stuff at the first opportunity. Please remember that Tony used keyboards like the Mellotron and Pro Soloist not because they were so great but because that was what was available at the time. If he had access to a Korg Oasys in 1974 he would have never touched that other junk and people today would pine for the good old days when he used the Korg!
I`m impressed!! This is really one of the best Genesis cover-bands I have ever heard!! But I must say that I`m most impressed with the audience. The italians have always appreciated good prog-rock!!!
was that a synth or was the crowd singing along in the early part? In the US, everybody was waiting for the big HITS, but they were singing the synth lines in Italy?
Well, considering their age (late 50s) I am damned happy they can still perform at all - never mind the fact that they've probably played this piece well over 1000 times, I wouldn't blame them if they're completely sick of it.
I love the audience singing! :)

European and South American crowds ALWAYS sing instrumental parts! They're some of the best and yes badass crowds EVER!

@CribNotes, I think American and Canadian crowds just listen and let their minds wander. They just let the music take their minds to a weird place.

One of the greatest songs of all time. The time changes at 2:31 and 2:54 are such great works of art they should be hanging in an art museum.

alot of us Brits sing the synths as well! Good on them I say! Tremendous!

Brazilians sing the same lines as well as the Euros and UK'S do. A good example is on Iron Maiden's Rock In Rio.
