@MadIIMike Then a properly sized SINGLE turbo is even better. Less weight, less hoses, less engine bay heat. With modern turbos having a twin set-up is kind of pointless.
@TheRotaryHeaven I do agree a single is more reliable when it comes to heat, and its worth going single just to be rid of the evil mess that is the vacuum system not to mention the power deliver becomes more linear and predictable... but youll never find a single turbo that can match the response of twin turbos whilst maintaining its power band to redline, it will either choke before peak rpm if you pick a turbo to small, or be will laggier to get power to peak rpm.
@Sefveron Agreed!i think that you're with my if I say that you can easily find a turbo that produces enough power down low to let you cruise around while flowing enough air up top to warrant nice power gains. The 13b rew is an old design and at that time a twin turbo set-up was a must.Nowadays you can easily use a new pcm and a boost controller to make up for the engine's shortcomings.A 13b msp addresses those problems mechanically (side exhaust ports) with its share of shortcomings as well.
Well you made the claim so go ahead and find a turbo, the twin turbo system has a power band of 2300rpm-Redline, to get a single turbo to spool that quickly youd need to pick a small exhaust housing and with the rotarys ability to produce exhaust gas a small housing will quickly choke around the 4000-5000rpm point which will actually stop the engine making more power, and if you go a larger exhaust housing youll get power to redline but it will NOT be as responsive as the twin turbo system.
@Sefveron My choice would be a gt3082 or a gt3582. The turbo would produce enough power to cruise makineg the car usable in the lower rpm range but still move enough air to make power at redline. Sure it won't be as responsive as a twin turbo though :)
@TheRotaryHeaven yes the gt35r is the best replacement for the twins if you are looking at response to power gains :p... ported motor can start making boost at about 3k rpm to rev limit :D.... and with ported motor can raise the rev limit even higher to which the twins cannot go lol
@TheRotaryHeaven :p okay sure lol... I have a gt35r turbo sitting in my garage right now waiting for my current seals to go so i can port and go single :)

you know its a rotary when it produces only 100PS less than a car with 14 more cylinders and 3 more turbos

I Love HKS T62R Turbos, but on a Rotary I'd prefer two smaller Turbos to keep its characteristics and handling.
For those who don't understand what a Turbo has to do with handling:
It fucking sucks, if you'r turbo kicks in this brutal when you're coming out of a corner...
