Islam is not just a religion. It is a totalitarian political ideology that wants to bring Sharia Law to the US. The saudi's fund our Universities, and teach students to Hate Jews, Muslims Discovered America, etc. Building the Islamic community Center, is there for only two reasons: illustrate the superiority of islam, and to deny that the Attack was an "islamic Attack" on the United States.

I think perhaps an intercultural center, with the input of all parties including the Islamic community, would be a perfect compromise. After all, America is where cultures come together, learn from each other, and create a deep, powerful mosaic of the human experience. I would want to see all faiths and religions represented there standing in perfect juxtaposition to absolute monotheism the fundamentalists represented. PEACE THROUGH PARTNERSHIP - STRENGTH IN UNDERSTANDING. The American way!

I applaud your desire for atonement and closing the rift. I suggest that, based on the backlash you're seeing, atonement will not be possible if the mosque is built as the plans stand today. If you want to reach another party to build a dialogue, you have to listen to the way that side is responding... and sadly, people don't appreciate the manner in which your group is trying. Don't give up - instead consider a different approach - a middle ground. An interfaith - intercultural center?

Really nice language R-Tard? If it is peace that muslims proclaim than what ever happened to lending an olive branch, and letting this go. So what does the name for this mosque mean? Islamic Caliphate , Cordoba, thats what happened in Spain during the muslim take-over. Not peaceful by no means. Just listen to yourself . Pushing and pushing. Many Americans are blinded by the lies. You cannot force healing, man. It has to go both ways. There could have been a lot more healing if those behind this mosque had said, "you know what, we respect your sensibilities, so we'll move it somewhere else, but we want to have a conversation about this."

Maybe I have very much disliked extremisms that have ruined certain things, like the image of all spirituality; but I can't go and be mean to every Arab and Muslim that I come into contact with. I'll be nice to them and talk to them. Ask them questions about their views and give them a deep understanding from what happens in my spirit science mind. Things can be reconciled eventually.
