VERY LOUD!!!! pre-charged pnumatics like the guns in the video are very loud. almost as loud as firearms. hearing protection might be a good idea if shooting most PCP's indoors (PCP=precharged pnumatic). although some of the newer ones have shrouded barrels, so the report from those is significantly less. but i haven't heard any big bores with shrouds. so it's lots like shooting a firearm, just no recoil, and less energy. still really cool guns though. they're a bit quieter then firearms still.
Im a diehard hunter and I dont think that theses are your average bb guns. I mean a .50cal airgun at 350 yards? WOOOO! Impressive and deadly I would bet.
air guns are cool for shooting squirrels and rabbits.... it is now time to move up to a real gun. start smal with a .223 eventually make it all the way to a .308
You should do some research on modern air rifles. You can kill any game with one. Any. There are also many areas where you can't legally shoot your .308, .223, or even a little .22 handgun.
I can legally shoot a relatively high powered air-rifle in my backyard.
Can't shoot your toys on my property legally. But I can legally take out coyote, possum, raccoon, you name it. No license, no restrictions. Right in my backyyard, with neighbors less than 100 yards away. No noise, no restrictions. I don't need your overpriced .308 ammo to do that. 30 FPE is more than enough.
Wow you are just a douche.. give me a practical use of an air gun while hunting.. Oh btw check your local laws because around where I live, its Illegal to kill a mouse with a Red Rider BB Gun with out hunters safety..
I go back to your first dimwitted comment: "..every hunter knows you can't kill much other than squirrels with airguns"
Every hunter? Hahaha...
Here's one practical use, britewit: The locals here have varmint problems with their farmland. Relatively small acerage with neighbors nearby. Wineries, cherry orchards, pear orchards. A .22 or .25 pellet isn't going to travel a mile and end up going thru your kitchen window. They won't let you on their property with a .223.
Okay smart one you are honestly the stupidest fucker ever... When I commented that I GUNS YOU BUY FROM CABELAS OR SPORTSMAN WEARHOUSE OR GANDER MOUNTAIN, But since everyone except for you I have ever talked to about guns Dad or Uncle is a gun smith it makes them a fucking expert.... Well my Uncle owns a private airport, Does that mean i can fly a plain.. HELL NO
alright sorry I just had to get that out there, but anyways practical uses of heavily modified air guns 2/10 practical uses of real guns.. Low powder loaded cartridges 10/10.. If you really wanna get into this you win.. w.e I don't even care, because on the internet everyone is an expert on anything,,,
I live in Ontario also, Im not in jail and there is no longer a skunk destroying my garbage...Im just saying you dont buy air rifles for the same reason..They are more of a challenge in themselves, rimfires are dead nuts to 150-200 yds point, shoot, kill..but with a air rifle you have compensate for the distance almost instantly ..its just a different way to hunt or remove pests, less costly and more fun/challenging I think..plus you cant take down deer with a dragon slayer 50 and the like LOL
My comment was in reply to powderkiilr saying "you can't kill much other than squirrels with air guns. You can kill a man with a high powered .22 air rifle. Even a .177.
But dont get me wrong..........I love dropping a 307 Ultra Magnum into a deer, from Reamington 700 series too LOL I just find it alot harder to hit a skunk from 50yds with an air rifle, than a deer at 350 yds with .22-250 or something you know what I mean?
lol, yes i shoot 222 brass @ 100yrd. asprin @ 40yrds. the only thing i hunt is dragon flys, i only shoot .177, used 2 hunt till i became dissabled, its way harder 2 shoot a dragon fly @ 25 yrds with a .177 than it used 2 be 2 shoot dear @ 300yrds. with a 270! i did attend the annual prarie dog shoot in western ks, useing an army snipers 50 cal, he let me borrow i obliterated a prarie dog @ 563 yrds. that was an amazing gun, and the gunny was a great guy, he hit from 800+ yrds 3 times!
the rifles are cool but its gettin to the point of u might as well buy a muzzle loader black powder rifle or a real rifle cause i kno u prolly hav to go to a range for sumthin like that
The same way smallbores work, with a high-pressure air-tank. Only bigbores come in higher calibers like 9mm, .45cal, .50 cal or larger, most are 70 grains to 250 grains.
1. By high-pressure hand pump ($200) which takes 50-100 pumps and it's difficult
2. By a $1800 electric 3000psi compressor
or
3. By the most common way, a scuba tank. The best tanks are the Carbon-Fiber 4500psi scuba tanks that can be filled at most scuba-shops for $5 and then they can fill your gun about 20-40 times.
The gun's tanks are usually 3000psi, some models like Benjamin-Sheridan have lower power and take only 2000psi.
Custom-made rifles like Quakenbush have about 2-3 full-power shots because they use lots of air to produce 400+ft/lbs. Korean bigbores have about 6 high-power shots then start falling.
That's why I like .25cal. With a 500CC Eun-Jin sumatra2500 you can have 40 high-power shots and use heavy 60-95grain bullets to take larger game within 50 yards. Also they have 6shots repeat-fire action.
Cool!

o ok....
now how do you compress the air into the gun.
do you buy tanks to charce it or do you manualy do it...?
czechmar 3 years ago
There are 3 ways to fill the airgun's tank.
1. By high-pressure hand pump ($200) which takes 50-100 pumps and it's difficult
2. By a $1800 electric 3000psi compressor
or

how do you out the air into the 200 year old one?
MrAnderson10000 3 years ago
There was air-pressure and airtanks 200 years ago. The steam engines in the old trains were built based on the same design.
Hesam0000 3 years ago 2
The air in the tank is 200 years old. No-one knows how much is in there but it hasn't run out yet. ;)
