  • the compound is very very fine grade #9800.

    Use Q-tip and just touch the surface lightly so you want harm the original paint.

  • wait did he use thinner to clean up the panel lines? wouldnt that strip the paint

  • He used Tamiya Enamel Thinner. The paint was protected by a gloss barrier coat that he apparently applied (the model is glossy). When the wash had dried, he used the thinner to scrub off the wash that was outside the panel lines.
