I love both the Stones and La Roux, and honestly, Stones-traditionalists need to look at their music from the 80s (Undercover, most notably) and realize that the Stones totally did the dance music scene. It's not half as good as their 68-72 period, but it still happened. I'm sure Mick at least is very pleased by this cover, so, let's let excellent current bands play tribute to excellent classic bands.

Boo hoo hoo my precious Rolling Stones being covered by an artist who didn't quite live up the legendary original! You know, the Stones are just a bunch of pissant white boys compared to the blues artists they covered, too if you want to start bitching and moaning about authenticity. This is a footnote to the history-making original, but the production on her voice is gorgeous, the beat is solid and the cover is really striking and pretty. What more do you expect?

The Stones were the ones giving the Black artists credit for their music, not to mention their sound was very different from the blues scene. I saw Buddy Guy in concert, and he took time out of his set to thank the Stones, because without them he would have probably been forgotten. Keith Richards found Johnnie Johnson driving a bus in St. Louis, and got him back playing music and in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
