I have a good question for you BerettaCommunity; I have the AL391 Ultra 12 G shotgun. I am curious if I have the ability to adjust the gas system. I purchased it used and I have a suspicion that the previous owner did some adjusting, but it does function as is so I haven't tried to adjust anything. There is an allen screw near the gas vent that I would guess does adjust the amount of vented gas vs gas used to operate cycling. Could you help me out at all?

@falchunt There is a way to fool with the system, but it's not recommended. If you don't know the history of the gun, you should replace the recoil spring, clean the gun thoroughly and tighten the lock nut on top of the exhaust valve. If you're not strongly familiar with the gun, I recommend taking it to a gunsmith.

@TheLinkroy1 that's when you are wrong.... the gas has pushed the pellets/bullet/slug or whatever so far up the barrel at the speed it allows it.... there is no need for further help from the gas so the rest of it goes down the gas chamber into the rotating bolt and toward the tubular magazine to help the shell get into the chamber faster.... therefore increasing the rate of fire and the self-loading speed

@aronoxideultra the gas they are releasing is the gas to operate the cycling function, which apparently with this gun is so much more efficient that it doesnt need all the gasses to do it. Infact, allowing more gas outta the barrel would increase firepower (theory) but maybe not in the real world

An autoloading shotgun with an 18 1/2 barrel or shorter that fires 36% faster than any other shotgun on the market because of an improved and more efficient gas piston system would be a bonus in any weapon system. I would also imagine that this newer piston system is not only faster but more reliable.

Since Beretta owns Benelli I would love to see them improve on upon their rock solid line of defensive and military shotguns.
