i really don't suggest this, but if you want to buy something ultra cheap, get the 8400GS, its only like 30 bucks and it has 528 or something like that of MB and a pixel shader 2.0. It's what I run TS3 on.

I played this with a 1.6ghz pentium single core 1.5 gigs of ram and a integrated graphics card on a laptop, you'll be fine. you should get good frames with mostly everything on high.

I've got a 8800GT, 2GB RAM and Intel C2D E6600 (2x2,4 Ghz). In Sims 2 I got like 30 - 40 FPS with normal speed on all max settings and like 20 FPS when I set the speed to 3x (with all addons).

Sims 3 runs at max settings with 130 - 140 FPS at normal speed and with 60 - 75 FPS at 4x speed. That's a result I didn't expect.

The pattern tool is also awsome. I thought it was just like recolors but it's much more amazing!

I suggest buying (or even better "building") a new PC rather than upgrading, because the changes in technology since the pentium 4 was the main chip have been huge. It would work out cheaper in the long run.

its not about your hardrive space as long as you have enough to hold the game, which you definitely do. doesn't look like your computer will run it with the stock processor, ram, and video card. sorry =(
