  • The singing on here is deliberate. Not flat.

  • This is just the best version of this song - ever, its truly beautiful.

  • This is just the best version of this song - ever, its trulybeautiful.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • R.I.P. pete

  • wow, searched youtube over and under, and this song is the perfect song to wish Liam Clancey the best . Liam would have done this song in his life, and I am sure the Jenny's would be honoured to be remembering him. There is harmony here......

  • A fitting tribute to Liam I agree

  • Woah ! Goosebumps ! Absolutely perfect. A beautiful song, by the way.

  • This song stirs my Scott-Irish ancestry. Hands down the absolute prettiest song ever sung followed by "The Minstrel Boy"..I too want this played at my funeral. A very good and very "auld" song.

  • The sings like this is is the first last day of my life.... angels voises.... So amazing beutiful.

  • When they sing "And of all the sweethearts that 'ere I've had"... Annabelles facial expression makes this song for me.

  • This song will play at my funeral.

  • And mine .

  • Mine as well. Slainte.

  • Mine too.

  • @LTcrew i play this every time i have sex

  • One of my favorite pieces of music. Beautiful version

  • Beautiful.

  • And all the girlfriends that I've had, they'd wish me one more night to stay...

And all the harm I;ve ever done, alas, it was to none but me

I very much wish both were true.

  • You and me both,hrothgleas--maybe we get forgiven somehow

  • they are not the same anymore without annabelle. the wailin jennys lost their soul when they lost her.

  • beautiful ladies singing a beautiful song

    how beautiful

  • so beautiful: these harmonies....

  • Upon my shoulder she lay her face warm with sorrow

through my shirt her tears did burn

her scent is all I would carry on the morrow

as from her form and shadow I would turn.

Farewell my dear, please raise a glass

speak of me well when time is past

you fair young thing my darlin' lass

let none forget our love will last.

  • is that another verse ?

  • My Acappella group sang this, transposed exactly the way the Wailin' Jennys did it... and it was BOMB.

  • Wow I bet that was amazing.

  • Someone posted that there were a few pitch problems. His ear surely must be better than mine as I think the pitch is well-neigh perfect. And what is more, it is exquisitely beautiful.

  • @cem404

Who ever is singing the lowest harmony is singing slightly flat. That's what he noticed. It does not take away from the beauty, It it is something that is noticeable if you are like me and can seperate the harmonies and listen to each by itself, and have enough training to discern what SHOULD be sung over what IS being sung.

  • @cem404 Just on the last note, and it might be deliberate.

  • amazing. this is so much better than the recorded version my teacher has. a few other girls and I are singing this song in our school's play "Mill Girls". We hope to make the audience ball just like the Wailin' Jennys are make me.

  • I think you mean you want to make them bawl..ball is very different. I hope you don't think I'm finicky

  • I love this. I keep coming back to it.
