Yep, in rehursals they had apple juice in the flask and someone pulled the old switcheroo on him just before the show. I think is was burbon. The expression on his face couldn't have been acting. He ws good at ad libbing, though.

Someone replaced the water with real booze, and you can see him react to it. Funny. I saw this on a documentary about Kovacs.
