Whats the best strings to use for a 3 string guitar? Nylon or steel? Whats most common and whats used in this video?

He's using steel strings (notice the pickup -- those won't work with nylon). Nylon strings are easier on the guitar and don't put as much tension on the neck, etc. If you wanted it amped, though, you'd have to use a piezo pickup. I'm putting bronze-sound strings on my first CBG (tomorrow, knock on wood!) because that was all they had at the shop that would give me the low G without having a much longer neck. Next time, I might try a different shop but this will do for now.
