make sure you are completely opening up the hips before you initiate the arm pull. Also, in all but the last lift, you recovered with your back foot first; make sure it is your front foot, then back foot
& one form point: on recovering from the split, make sure when bringing the legs together, you make it a solid, sure movement, you seem to just sort of shuffle them in. It'll help you finish when you get up to heavier weights!
Actually now that you mention it, one of my friends that does Crossfit with me did about 2 weeks of lessons with that group. I'll have to ask him how it went.
youare pulling withyouarms way to early. you have to really shrug hard and get fully extended. i would stay away from slit snatch it really does nothing. stick to hang snatch to get your shrug and extension better. and move to normal snatches. extension and srugging is your weakness right now.
It's not a Globo Gym. It's just a local gym that only charged $28 for 1 month. No contract. I now workout at Auburn University's student activity center since I'm an employee of the University. An MMA gym here in Auburn is about to start offering CrossFit sessions (certified affiliate), but I might not be able to afford it yet.
Hmmm, looking at it again 2 months later, not so bad really. But, check the one at 2:00 (not a heavier one actually)... you don't think that there could be a bit more "sitting back". I still think is true. Yet, perhaps 99% was a bit arbitrary and high.
I usually shoot for perpendicular to the ground with the calfs, certainly knees should not go past toes. Maybe I'm wrong :P
Set up a barbell with a 45 on each side. See if you can grab the bar with a snatch grip and calfs perpendicular to the ground. While your down in that deep deep hole, take a minute to ponder how much pulling power you have in that position. It's not a WPO squat and nothing bad happens when the knees goes past the toes.
Keep the bar closer to your body, you need to solidify your second pull(to be honest, I don't even see a second pull). Watch a few youtube videos from HeangKoing and you will see the first and second pull. I hope this helps a little. Keep training your doing good.
Thanks for the recommendation. I've been working on it since this video and transitioned into the regular snatch, which seems to help me keep the bar much closer. I am also starting to feel that second pull you're talking about. I will hopefully have another video up soon, although I've been focusing more on triathlon specific training lately.
nice, your last lift is your best by far.

If you are interested in improving your Olympic lifts, there is an O lifting club in Auburn. Les Simonton is a great coach and it is free.

Thanks for the tip. I've heard of it before and I plan on checking it out sometime.

Les also works at the University. He is head tech guy. I think he works at Broun Hall.

Sucks you're still training at a Globo Gym. Get some bumper plates...they help a lot. Good luck in your training.

Drill the power snatch before moving up to the split snatch.

You seem to let your knees forward a bit at the beginning of the heavier lifts. 99% of weight should be on heels, calfs perp. to ground.

Wrong.
