@samurai4497 Shirley Bassey is not a soprano nor is she a dramatic soprano (which is another type of sopranos) She is a contralto. Contraltos have very powerful, broad ranged chest voices. Their range is between E3 and E5, with their best singing range sitting around G3 and C5. She is in the same category as Mahalia Jackson, Gladys Knight, Kate Smith, Odetta, Bernice Johnson Reagon. If you compare her voices with other known (non-classical) contraltos you will hear the similarity.

@samurai4497 I'm sorry my brother I have to disagree. To avoid further debate, go to a piano or keyboard and check her range. She does not really go above E5. That makes her a contralto. The obvious clue is the lack a substantial head voice (falsetto). If she was dramatic soprano, she should be able to reach C6. But given the dark, rich, husky timbre of her speaking and singing voice and given that most sources state that she is a contralto, I'm going to say to agree that she is a contralto.

Everyones opinion should be there own and shouldnt be criticised
