When I first heard this song, I thought of our two little foster sons. It makes me think of what they went through and how we have tried to make up for the neglect they suffered.
They left our home this week (after almost two years of being with us) to live with their dad. We were crushed and it killed us to see them cry and plead not to leave us. We will miss them terribly and love them for eternity... We love you, boys.
Two years ago, I sat with my grandfather in his farmhouse while he slipped away. I wasn't there to be noble; I was there because something just made me want to be there. My dad was there, and it was just the three of us. When I left, I got into my car and this song was on. I don't know why it was on (I've never heard it again on the radio, and I don't ever remember having my radio tuned to an adult contemporary station). I cried like a baby. It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life.
This song makes me think of all the people out there dealing with domestic violence. These innocent people deserve to feel loved like anyone else. I know you aren't supposed to advertise things on comments, but please, if you can, donate to charities that are established to prevent domestic abuse.
