The difference is the use of the militias. Venezuela are open to imperialism, economic sabotage, foreign mercenaries and hostile local governments. Just look what happened the Allende government in Chile in the 1970s. Allende did not have full (if any) control of the military nor a popular workers' militia. Look what happened. A North American militia or talk of one is for further recruits for foreign adventures, imperialism and neo-colonialism. Or perhaps just rhetoric, to gain vote support.

I feel Obama is too much of an idealist to be president. His naivete about the bad repercussions that universal healthcare is going to bring is a good indication of that.

Plus, he's supported many of the policies that Bush did: increasing the executive branch's power, and promoting big government.

When push comes to shove, I don't think we Americans are willing to give up our prosperous way of life. If his plan is put into action, the middle class we can kiss the nice homes and cars goodbye.
