First just let me say that I adore this movie and this scene ( the gazebo scene is also a classic). Just pointing out a few crazy things for those not from NYC. First, the Staten Island ferry is never empty, even on a Saturday morning. Second, the ferry never sails under the Verrazano Bridge. Third, the bridge itself is devoid of traffic. I would love to know what it cost the producers to set this all up with the NYC government. It was worth every penny IMHO.

For the record, I absolutely adore this scene. But c'mon, there is no one else at the Seaport, no one else on the Staten island ferry, and the ferry sails under the Verrazano Bridge (which, you notice, has no cars on it). Talk about setting the scene. Still, this is one of the most romantic scenes in movies. ("Can you do it again just as good ?") This picture is great, and everyone involved in it was wonderful.

I was in 8th greade. My school band went to New York City for a field trip. We were split up in two groups and my group went to lunch first at Planet Hollywood. Michael and his wife were finishing up their lunch there. My band instructor asked his security guard if we could meet him and he said yeah. He is such a sweetheart.
