There has been some findings of a deliberated hacked-up stautue that many are proposing to be a contemporary depiction of Joseph. It belonged to a dude named Ankhu, meaning Life, and Zatenaf Paankhu means He Who Is Called Life, a name that closely resembles the Egyptian name given Joseph by the Pharaoh in the Bible. THAT evidence seems to better fit the deal. I'm sure there are several videos on youtube about it.

TODAY I WATCHED SOMETHING ON THE NATIONAL GEGRAPHIC CHANNEL AND IT SPOKE ON THIS TOMB BEING FOUND AND HOW CARBON DATING ISNT ALWAYS RIGHT HOW IT CAN AGE SOMETHING UP TO 1000 TO 2000 YEARS MORE CLAIMING THAT SCHOLARS THEOLOGIANS SCIENTIST EXCETRA BELIEVE THAT IMHOTEP WAS AND IS JOSEPH. Good video collection. One puzzlement is that Joseph was known for his outstanding beauty, like his mother Rachel. The Egyptian women were all agog by it. That statue of Imhotep doesn't quite cut it for me.

The names of all the Pharaohs & their senior advisors are recorded. There is no mention of Joseph. The Bible says there were 600,000 Israelites in Egypt. Archaeologists have not found evidence of ANY Israelites in Egypt - no hebrew inscriptions, no Israelite names in documents, no Israelite art, nothing - until 1000 years later. Most historians, inc most Israeli historians, think the Bible story is myth. Read Israel Finkelstein's "The Bible Unearthed: Archaeology's New Vision of Ancient Israel".

Only the tribe of Levi was known for keeping Hebrew names. However, "Moses" is the Egyptian name (like "Tut-mose" or Ach-mose) his adoptive mother, Pharoah's daughter, gave him. He was the only Levite to be known by his Egyptian name. Anyway, perhaps your "historians" are looking for the wrong names.

@EqualAndFree No, the Torah says there were 600,000 men of war that left Egypt with Moses, meaning IDF defenders between the ages of 20-50, not counting wifes, youth, grandparents, or the non-combatant, priestly tribe of Levi. Thus, low estimates are 3 million participated in the Exodus, and that's only 20% of the original Israelite slave population of about 15 mill. What kind of art work, legal documents, inscriptions do you expect SLAVES to have? Lots of non-Egyptian pottery found though.

@HilltopSavta The Egyptians produced vast numbers of documents and records. They often mention the national origin of servants, slaves and traders. If half the population of Egypt were Israelite slaves I would expect them to mention it at least once. While there are lots of Israelite remains in Canaan from this time (such as carvings and statues from even humble homes) there are none in Egypt. That's why most Israeli archaeologists treat the Exodus story as a myth rather than real history.

@EqualAndFree the Number of Israelites that got out of Egypt at the Exodus is said by the Bible to be a very big number: Thousands and Hundreds of Thousands of walkers... 600000!!!!! This is nothing but Bullshit... History Studies and Archaeology tells us that that number is nothing but fiction. Even Fundamentalist Christians now say that that number is not to be taken literally ( The Bullshit they always say)... In the Qur'an, however, we find that the Number was so small: Qur'an says:

Even the Bible never says that the Pharaoh claimed to be a god, while the Qur'an did and Archaeology also says that; it is a proven fact that Pharaohs considered themselves as gods...

@omarzellal That sounds much more realistic. The statues of some Pharaohs say they were gods. There might have been a small group of Israelites in Egypt without leaving any archaeological record - but not the vast numbers claimed in the Bible. There were lots of Israelites in Israel / Canaan during this time so they weren't all in exile.

Interesting video. The only problem with the theory presented near the end is that Djoser and Imhotep lived c. 2600 BC (during the Old Kingdom) while the biblical Joseph would have lived about 1000 years later (in the Middle Kingdom).
