  • Looks like something by Colossal Pictures (It is by Colossal Pictures.)

  • Can anyone please tell me where I can get the song/songs or soundtrack for magic journeys I have looked everywhere but no luck finding it...

  • I saw this movie twice. First in 1985 in Epcot Center then again in 1990 in the Magic Kingdom, when Captain EO was playing in Epcot. This movie is pure magic and most of it is owing to the great theme song, which I recently learned was written by the great Sherman Brothers. Thanks for sharing this piece of my youth. Even this poorly captured footage is priceless and worth keeping and sharing. Thanks again (now please hand me my 3D glasses!).

  • Yay Kodak!

  • Many thanks! I remember this well, I always thought the main song was creepy.

  • Groovy

  • Wow! Haven't seen this since I was 10. Great upload and thanks for the memories!!!

  • I want to say something but AnnainCA said all I want to .

Just like me , I visited Disneyland Orlando 27 Years ago and I was looking for this Movie .

A lot of memories comes to my mind .WOW it really amaizing

  • Every time I see this movie, it makes me sad because so much of the magic is now gone from Disney World. It was once a very magical place.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been looking for this film forever. I haven't seen it since I visited Disneyland at least 26 years ago. It's amazing how much of it came flooding back to me, though. The music, the dandelions, the children running through the field, etc. It's exactly how I remembered. The song definitely stuck in my mind, too. It's so eerie and wistful. Such a lovely film. I wish it was available on DVD.

  • @AnnainCA

Me too! It's been so long ago. I only saw it once but I memorized most of the lyrics and it's stayed on my mind ever since. Beautiful.

  • Magic Journeys was a movie presented by Princess Serendipity at Ne'er-Do-Wellz, owned by Tommy Lee of Motley Crue.

  • @Focusakker

Actually it played at Disneyland the second half of '84 until New Years '86. The Magic Eye Theater was finished so DL played it while Captain EO was still being filmed/produced.

  • Oddly, I was thinking about this song today. I haven't seen this movie/heard this song in YEARS. So cool that I found it here. It IS hypnotic.

  • YES! I can finally see this!! I heard the full soundtrack is out there somewhere, where can I get it?

  • Where was this filmed? Epcot? Disneyland?

  • @Someotherguyuser As far as I know, Magic Journeys was only at EPCOT.

  • Wow - this was really creepy and weird. I am glad they update attractions so stuff like this isn't in the parks anymore!!!

  • I love this soundrack...

  • This was the second attraction I trained on at Disneyland in '84. Truly haunting track and truly hypnotic is right. An interesting attraction to work as shifts started late because the Space Mountain stage was still outdoors and they couldn't start it until it was dark. A memorable summer for sure.

  • This is awesome i have been thinking of this movie for like 20 years great to see it again thanks!

  • they say that captain E-O might be coming back to Disneyland, but not sure about Epcot.

  • They don't make anything like this anymore. Pure 80's. Hypnotic.

  • I LOVED this 3-D movie when I was a kid. I'd give anything to be back in that theater again, watching this great and creepy movie. I wish there was a better version of it available.

  • This used to be at Epcot from 1982-1986 and the Magic Kingdom from 1987-1993

  • It even played at Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland, from 1984 to 1986, and, 1985 to 1987, respectively.

  • No the music was written by the Sherman Brothers

  • I know the Sherman Brothers wrote the song but I wonder if Wendy Carlos composed the music.

  • I don't know, but whoever did it is a musical genius.

  • The music is the product of Robert and Richard Sherman, the geniuses behind so much incredible Disney music (including my personal favorite, 'It's a Small World."

  • wow

  • Magic Journeys is Disney's very first 3-D film

  • Sorry, wrong answer.. Disneyland had a 3D Mouseketeers / Mickey Mouse Club movie in its Fantasyland Theatre in the late 1950s..

  • Is the music was made by Wendy Carlos?

  • I like the version of the song on the Epcot soundtrack tape. Though this version certainly is trippy.

  • I remember siting in that cool theater in Disneyland watching this film. This is like a lucid dream from my childhood..

  • Wow I don't know whats worse. This or Honey I shrunk the audience.

  • I would like to thank whoever posted this video. I was looking for this for many years and it brings back so many memories. I would really like to see the Kodak sponsored pre-show if anyone videotaped that also...

  • awsome, this wa made way back i think, had a song magic journeys.

  • So.... you gonna credit me since I shot this video in June 1990? It`s only polite.

    Martin Smith.

  • THANK YOU!!!!! I would be amazed if this were ever transfered to bluray via Disney. I love the music, production quality, etc........very cool.

I even debated trying to get permission from Disney to do an arrangement for my jazz band (I am a high school instrumental music teacher) combined with our chorus. How cool would that be??? :) :) :)

  • Oh, not to mention...I am employeed by Disney :) On-Call Musican (no joke), I am a sub for the mainstreet phil at the magic kingdom, and I have played during Food and Wine Festival for the Four Tops at Epcot....

  • THANK YOU!!!

    The bats scared me!

  • Thank you, brought back memories. Captain EO was the best show they ever had tho. I saw this one when I was about 10 years old.

  • LUVED this. Memories !!!!!

  • Thank you for posting!!! Nothing 3D today compares to what they did back then.

  • Wow haven't seen this in soooooo long, first time I saw it was when I was 5 in 1989 in Fantasyland (where Philharmagic is now) haven't seen it since the 90s and I still miss it...remember when Chip and Dale in Working for Peanuts came right before this film? Haha great memories, thanks so much for posting!

  • Oh shit, I remember this back in '92. I was 7.

Great memories and it had a great theme song as well. What year was it originally released?

Have a great week! Puerto Rican Love from New York City!
