Even if the Pirates couldn't beat the Brewers (which they proved they can), we still have the best football team in the history of the NFL, and the Stanley Cup Champion Penguins. Championships before the Superbowls count as well. that was before the league was big enough to have the NFC and AFC. So you need to take the packers 3 SB + their 12 world championships. The steelers had 6 World Championships and now have 6 SB wins The Packers have won more Championships than your steelers. And if there was shared revenue and a salary cap in the MLB like there is in the NFL the brewers would have done a whole lot better than one world series appearance

The Steelers really are the better team all time, really theres no arguing that. Obviously Prince Fielder is better than any batter on the Pirates, none of them even went to the All Star game, but they are still able to take out the Brewers as a team, so what does it matter that Prince hits a home run? Ok, let me break it down. Todays league there are 32 teams, and guess what? Each of those teams has to fill a roster of players. In the league today there are starters out there who are terrible, because of the lack of good players and the abundance of teams. Example: Kyle Orton. Ok so back when there were only 16 teams, all of those teams were easily able to fill their rosters will the best players available because of the lack of teams.
