  • wow it's so different than underwood's version!!

  • My FAVOURITE of his songs

  • i loved this song man those was the day,s

  • DAMN!!! :))

  • I had to listen to this during my divorce. I said HAD TO, because I was living it. Turn around, my wife ran off and wanted to come back. I considered it akin to an alcoholic going back to drinking. Kiss of death. Never got back together, thank God.

  • Wow :) I love his version! His def has more of a country twang to it...Carrie's is beautiful too, but Randy's is purely country

  • where has music like this gone? Today's music...junk, can NEVER compare.

  • 8 people were dumped and were told they could'nt come back.

  • te la pelaste compadre, se te fue la chica que querías por puños.

  • i got chills...seriously

  • old times

  • woooooohoooooooooooooooooooo go randy yuor a better singer then everybody

  • thats true country music

  • Omg His voice is so beautiful. Beautiful song.

  • I have LOVED Randy Travis my ENTIRE life...I'm an R&B girl, but his music transcends all genres, all colors, all music and all time....#TrueFan!!

  • I love this song. I love his and Carrie's version too. :D

  • This song is for Bob......I hope we can work it out....but if not I know we will remain friends...

  • this song is our awesome. sorry carrie but he is better

  • Don't know who wrote this song, but Randy Travis sings it like he wrote it, he lived it, and he would very much like to forget it ever happened. Gotta go with the girl on this one! Too many times we take them back - not always a good idea! "Man up" girlfriends!!

  • @oneofakind1349 < Randy Traywick (Travis) wrote in in jail after an arrest for car thievin' in 78. It was first released under his original stage name "Randy Ray" in 83 but wasn't note worthy til it was Re-released 1988 on now Randy Travis' Always and forever album.

  • never again

  • You told me so...:'(

  • I love this in original version. The tone suits the way the story is told and it is a message from the heart and there is no way the other won't feel a regret. With this tone, the ear will be picking up every note every word sung.

  • 7 people dont understand this song

  • Usually I prefer the original song to the remake, but this time, I like both. :)

  • im afarid to tell my ex this :(( wat if he doesnt take me bak HE BROKE UP but he told me he luvss me WAT DO I DO

  • @thebest9329 follow your heart dont listen to anyone else if he really does love you he will come back only time will tell and show how much he loves you but just follow your heart

  • @qcameron100 thnks i will

  • @thebest9329 no problem i followed my heart and i have the best girl of my dreams...i was gonna give up on love but i found her and she showed me true love :) i hope everything works out :)

  • @qcameron100 thnks :))

  • this is real country not country rap junk

  • I love this video this video brings back memory's from the old days.

  • This was back when country was worth listening to

  • i think both versons are great, but randy's voice captures the emotions the best for me in this one :)

  • duet or his version are both the best.... i personally prefer this version, the song is full of soul and passion..

  • I love this song... There is something there when he sings it... This song speaks of my life now.... It does make me cry also... Sometimes it is good cry...

  • duet was...okay but I cry listening to this version because the story he sings is sad, but with duet it makes me cry hearing her try to hit "those notes"

  • I like this one better because he made the song! carrie just sang it again!

  • I loved this song the first time I heard it, all thoes years ago. It reminded me of my high shcool girl friend. To this day it still does. She is now my second wife and I tell her that when I hear this song. For us it has a happy ending.

  • Me tre tantos recuerdos.

  • Randy Travis is one my number one artists of all time, I listened to these songs when i was growing up back in the day and it never gets old when i play his music. 5/5

  • me and my baby mama

  • in this clip he looks soo handsome..!!! =]

  • Seriously... the ONLY version worth listening to

  • @MySassyfrass carrie underwood is really talented

  • @MySassyfrass The music video for carrie underwood is pretty nice, well all of her's are

  • go randy i love u u da bestest

  • i like it when they sing together more

  • hi mark parslow

  • Ohhhhh.....Randy has a sexy voice !

  • Can't wait to see him for my first time..... 2 weeks- Redding CA

  • love this song!its my cousins song so proud of him!

  • MAN GOOD WOW wat els can i say

  • man wow hesGOOD

  • man wow hes GOOD hihi byby

  • I <3 Carrie, don't get me wrong. But any music critic who knows music and knows singing will tell you that oversinging something does not equate with "more feeling."

    Heather

  • I think Carrie took this song and demolished it. She oversang it, plain and simple, at the "I told you so" part. Randy, this is YOUR song. NO ONE can sing it better than you.

    Heather :-)

  • Such an amazing song. Country music is so wholesome and good for the soul. I also like Carries version.

  • Randy Travis looks like Willem Dafoe

    Love the song btw

  • Goosebumps everytime I hear this..

  • Strawberry -- He looks exactly like Matt Damon at 1:08 lol.

  • wow randy is without a doubt a great singer but carrie couldn't cary his jock strap? She has the most powerful voice in music today. Love both versions of the song and I love both artists. But be real just because you like this version more doesn't take away from how talented carrie is.

  • @nomoondoggie18

Too often people's jealousy of someone's incredible talent (Carrie) makes them very cruel and hateful.

Carrie is a beautiful young woman, inside and out. Her voice is a manifestation of her inner beauty.

  • love both version if they sang it both together it would be awesome

  • Carrie sang this with a lot more feeling. They are both very good though

  • Wow, this really hits home. Only I was the one doing the telling. A beautiful song, and both Randy Travis and Carrie Underwood do it justice in their own ways.

  • agreed scotty and lauren covered this song much better and made it sound more current and enjoyable

  • At 1:08 who does he look like? lol

  • Comment removed

  • Carrie Underwood sings like a dying harpie...Randy Travis is the better musician..

  • personally i like the duet the best...

  • long time no see marky mark

  • @decolady2 I like the duet where he surprises her lol such a good pair of voices in the duet of this song

  • @decolady2 the duet is mostly carrie!

  • It's always nice to try to improve on the original but it will never be the best because it was never first. It's the drive and passion behind the song writer and performing artists that create the original masterpiece that others like so much that they want to emulate it and make it their own. Carrie Underwood isn't trying to be better than Randy Travis. They've worked together and have alot of respect for each other. She IS trying to redo the song in her own way. Nothing wrong with that.

  • I love this song as the original but Carrie puts a certain....idk, desperation almost in her version, like she can't live without the person

  • i like them both, but i prefer randy travis. carrie sings 2 or 3 octaves too high for me

  • I personally like them BOTH doing this song TOGETHER!! :)

  • i love this and Carrie sang this well but this song was made for Randy Travis and no one will ever sing it better than him <3

  • wow! the original video...ty for posting!

  • haters to the new are ignorant to the capability of the young...

Carrie re did a classic and kicked ass get over it

  • well im on my wya home now im gonna go home & sing this see u then

  • sometimes i listen to this song but why do i alwasy fall asleep on my table when i get home from school listenging to this i feel like a fuckin fool couse people think it puits me to sleep well yes if that is right but when the song is done i just fall asleep right on my desk so about this song putting me to sleep is wrong

  • Carrie who?

  • @MBTA589 underwood is the name carrie underwood

  • Love this guy!

  • the king of country music nobody,s better the best

  • Great lyrics!

  • One person was mad that the song is only 3:39 mins long

  • I think Carrie Underwood did a creditable job with this song. Loved the end of her video where she's on the Opry stage and Randy Travis comes out. Can't beat Randy Travis though.

  • i lova carrie under wood and she can sing and i think they are about equal.. kk so get over it!!

  • you guys might think i am dumb but i like it better with carrie but thats just me

  • he is one tall drink of water... lol

  • Randy Travis was the first and the best with this song. End of story.

  • Nice voice

  • This original is much better than Carrie Underwood's remake and one of the best country songs of all time.

  • Ahhh Amazing.

I still think that carrie underwood and Randy travis are both equally good at this song

  • i heard a duet of randy and carrie doin this song together that was very good......

  • I love Carrie, but she should have left this song alone or sang it in a lower key. At times she sounded like she was screeching. Randy, this is your song and your song only.

  • it doesnt matter to me who sang it better...this WAS my song for my boyfriend when we were broken up..it makes more sense when a girl sings it to a guy haha..they both sing them amazing..one of my all time favorite songs

  • damn this song is the shit...very nice voice

  • this song is great love it randy is the best

  • this song is just great i love this song it makes me think about my past and it makes me happy but sad too randy travis is the best country singer ever

  • i love randy i am so going to his conserctes i love himm

  • naturally women have higher pitches and are able to hit higher notes, i think thats the only differences is that carrie made it more powerful, while randy's is romantic and soft and soothing for the ears :)

  • This is a beautiful song...it's so easy to connect it to our past love..

  • I was watching this video again today and it hit me...Randy and My ex's cousin Phil are carbon copies of each other. In looks i MEAN. Too bad old Phil wasn't as smart as Randy...or the average dog for that matter. Phil killed himself by running over his own head with his truck. He was mad, backing out of his girlfriends house, cut the wheel hard, the door flew open, Phil fell out and "crunch". But he was always good for a sick laugh. I miss him. Let me post another 'Phil' story.

  • I love Randy Travis music and I will until the day that I died. PERIOD.

  • Randy is better is his the best for this song

  • listen closely to both carrie's cover and the original. she does nothing different from randy's arrangement. every turn of a note, inflection and roll is identical. the only difference is the vocal of a female. i personally like randy better but that may be because I always like the original.

  • Both are good but it's a big act to follow out preforming the orginal. Thanks for posting this. It brought back alot of memories.

  • They are both really good (Carrie and Randy)! I can't choose who is better!

  • @1060709 Nope, he's still touring, we've seen him in concert this past summer

  • U the master sir Luvs Carrie's version but this is it!

  • well ,,the original singer and songer and sanger lolol

  • Randy sings this song so passionately. So dreamily. It feels as natural as breathing.

Carrie is a talented singer, but she doesn't do this song the justice it deserves. I'm open-minded to 'covers' of song, but...I really think Carrie butchers this... :\

  • wow randy travis is freekin hottttt

  • well well...another great tune..thanks.....sweet memories....

  • the best in country music .....thanks randy

  • His voice is amazing! i love the duo with him and carrie

  • His voice is amazing! i love the duo with him and carrie

  • RANDY TRAVIS go oh so hard!

  • always and forever beautiful

  • such a beautiful song. and randy's voice is just so perfect for it!

  • gusy dont correct me if im wrong i have a gutiar i always sing his songs but it busted on me

  • I love Randy Travis my mom took me to his concert for my 8th bday I will never forget that. I cried when he sang He walked on water...this is one of my favorites and no1 could sing it better.

  • this song is the best no matter what anybody says this is true country and all you city slickers go somewhere because no country person would like o be around all those lights they would rather be in a field up under all the stars

  • Who the idiot who doesn't like this song, raise your hand. your an idiot, here's your sign... and out of 106,427 views, only 187 voted that they like it, and 1 voted that they didn't. just unbelievable.

  • carrie under version sucks balls compared to the original.... if i ever committed suicided i would blame it on carries version of the song.

  • Randy Travis Is My Favorite Counrty Singer He Is The Best Out There

  • i love all the deep voiced artists but Randy is my favorite. ^^

  • Wow!!! I forget sometimes how many great song Randy Travis sang, hope more to come.

  • epik singer and i am a girl but i love country! d^.^b

  • ohh i get why u said its not new haha. i know its not.

thats not what i meant im sorry. i mean the new stuff thats coming out. this is an oldy i know. ive known it forever.

my bad i should have been more clear lol.

  • i know its his song :|

hence hes the best at it.

carry is good, but she just aint randy

  • i grew up on randy. he's the best. ask any 80's kid. randy is the best

  • guys i love randy like a bro i dont like my dad i need a father

  • here's the deal... Randy was great, Carrie was great, but not as good, and the two of them duetting is THE greatest version of this song

  • Hands down Randy sings it better

  • love this song but Carrie Underwood sing it better

  • Randy feels ever word. Carrie just sings it.

  • travis is looking good here. he just seem to have that old world charm about him. love him

  • i love me some randy!

  • i love this song andy travis is a true country genius

  • im not a huge country fan. especially this new stuff. but randy travis <3

i love him. one of the best artists alive if u ask me. country or not.

  • @xxkisses7xx this isn't new... this is the original, Randy Travis originally sang it

  • I love Carrie Underwood to death and it is true that their duet of this song is one of the best duets of all time, but.... This is Randy's song and will always be. He sings this song so beautifully and with so much feeling that you have to love it more then the duet version.. :)

    -Madison Lynn

  • This is honestly my favorite Country song. Followed by Ricky Van Shelton's "Somebody Lied"

  • ii aint ever heard it by him but now i have AND ILL HAVE TO AGREE

  • personally i love carrie but she shafted one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded somethings are better left alone no one will EVER sing it like randy

  • @imronjamesbitch

Carrie Underwood sang this better than Travis ever could have, if you dont agree you need to log off and walk away.

Travis was pretty much just singing off paper, but Carrie Underwood sang it will a lot of feeling.

imronjamesbitch, you must be half deaf.

  • @whitemoon75 -You need a reality check. Carrie Underwood could not carry Randy's jockey strap.

  • carrie didn't deliver this song at all when she sang it... no one beats the original... so much emotion

  • i love randy!! <3

  • Taylor Lautner looks his younger version.

    Randy here is so cute.

  • I think that Carrie's version was just a tribute to Randy

  • Don't get me wrong either. Carrie is great.... but she is not Randy!!
