I found the solution of it!!!! Mine was showing that f*** apple for days and now it works. Well after a lots of trying to reset it by clicking the menu and select buttons, that putting it do different usb or just connecting and disconnecting it. Than again reseting by clicking menu and select buttons, after it I went to the Disc Mode - clicking the select and stop/play button, than I disconnected it and reset it again. AND IT GETS BACK TO LIFE!!!

mine did this too when it was connected to my computer (otherwise it worked fine) - I used it until the battery offed, then I waited a couple days, so it didn't even said low battery when tried to turn it on - connected to my pc, restarted 3 times, then it went to recovery mode and after the recovery it was fine (that was one year ago)

Id say the first thing would be to search Apples knowledge base.I'm sure you are not the only person to ever have this issue.I would try a simple reset first.Unplug it and hold down Menu and Select untill you see the Apple Logo then let go.

My Ipod is doing the same, like it may work when it is unplugged, but the battery is so low it doesn't stay on long, but it dose play music in the time it can, then when i plug it in, the apple screen comes on, then lightens up like yours did, then i get the " don't disconnect sign", then it clicks and turns off, and dose that over and over, have you found anything out on what to do??

open its backside. hit hard disk with something metal repeatedly but gently from the sides. try connecting to the computer after every few hits. mine is working now. hdd stuck probably.

About some hours i was with the same problem. I entered the disk mode and then the windows recognized it, then i restore with iTunes.

===The solution===

1) Connect the ipod to computer

2) Enter Disk Mode - Press play/pause and the middle button.

3) Access iTunes and click restore.

YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA IN IPOD.

As long as i know, disk mode is when your iPod is acting like an Pen Drive. Just being avaiable to use it to hold files. I don't know the difference when it is on "normal mode", but I'm sure a little research could answer you better.

First connect it to the computer.

Next hold down the menu and select buttons until it shuts itself off.

Next, a popup window for RECOVERY should display,

after recovery RESTORE the ipod in itunes.

Then it will reset, restart and begin anew!

No, he's not broken.

It was the same with my ipod.

Just connect it with usb to computer.

Then hold menu and select buttons.

Wait while computer finds your ipod, then restore ipod program and listen to the music.

If reboot doesn't work try opening the ipod and disconnect the battery ribbon-strip . Wait 10 seconds and re-connect ribbon-strip . Close iPod and turn on. Good luck.

Hey i just figured out how to fix that problem, because i just had the same thing like 2 min. ago. You reset it like normal, Turn on the "Hold" button then turn it off and after that you hold the menu and select button at the same time. after that you are suppose to hold the select button and the play/pause button and it will go to disk mode. Connect it to your computer via USB and then restart it again but this time dont press the Select and Play/Pause button. Hopefully this helps u guys out.
