@Falastinilubnani umm actually...when the earth formed from the remnants of a supernova, our suns predecessor, the heavier elements, such as iron, tended to condense into the core of the accretion disk, this formed our planets core which is mostly molten iron and nickel. the iron that lies close to the surface is there by chance but most certainly was part of the original accretion disk that formed our world. however asteroids can deposite iron and other metals, some not present on earth.

@saintpine actually as disappointing as islam is at present any scientific mind has to acknowledge their historic contributions to science, among them a significant portion are astronomical in nature. it's conceivable that in the days leading up to muhammad's revelation or shortly afterward someone used methods available to propose the idea. it would be extremely tedious to do so without modern instruments but i think it would be possible.

The Koranic verses are so naive and vague, and could mean anything one wishes, it's totally ridiculous to think it has anything to do with science.

The contributions to science are nowhere near the proportions one would expect. They were anyway in the crossroads and have many exchanges with Asians, Indians, Greeks, romans etc.

Qur'an says we are created from Earth but translations might say clay/dirt/sand/mud etc. In the original text it says earth which science approves of. There is not reason to suggest Adam an Eve never existed knowing that Evolution is not a fact but only a theory which some scientists agree on.

Two responses to this:

1. The Biblical and Qu'ranic notions of universal expansion only work looking in hindsight. "God stretched the heavens like a tent" this is not referring to universal expansion. Just an 'explanation' for the sky.

2. Galileo Galilei was imprisoned by the followers of God for daring to say that the earth was not the center of the universe. (He was right.)

However, the Qumran scrolls prove the reliability of the Old Testament scriptures, and they come from hundreds of years before Jesus and verify the integrity of what we have transmitted today. 1. Islam believes that it is only Allah (Which means in Arabic the God in singular)the one God none else who created all the universe and all other creatures. and is the only one we worship

2. the Word "We" in CAPITAL LETTER as you see.comes from Arabic Language Rules:

The singular is transformed to plural in a case if you are describing something, Mighty, Glorious d Great as Allah
