I used shots from Armageddon, Fight Club, Terminator 3, and various stock footage to create the beginning. I tried to make it as deadpan and serious as possible so that people would (hopefully) be caught off-guard by the ridiculousness that follows.

The music in the beginning is "The Healing" by James Newton Howard (from Lady in the Water). And the second song I play after we finally see McCain is "Suitcase Calling" by The Polyphonic Spree.
