I suggest you go up to the search bar there ^^ and type in Los Angeles lakers click on the channel option and see if a Laker channel uploaded this game so you can see highlights for them.
In those days.. it wasn't about who was gonna win the championship. Duhh! It was about more about who was gonna loose it in the finals to the Bulls. I don't care what anybody else has to say about the issue. Nough said. ;-) lol
the only reason why the PIP's game subsided was due to a number of injuries... nonetheless he came out like a superstar that helped MJ win the last 2 titles
This is why I prefer the 90`s...players score and get back on defense right away, nowadays, players score, then do some cocky moves like standing like Hercules statue or dancing..etc!
Scottie Pippen knew how to Play The Game and that's the difference! Lebron tries to be the Game and Scottie knew how to play it. Time will only tell if Lebron can earn the tittle as Mr. Everything!
@bestiamalata Fuck LeBron, that little bitch. There will never be another Scottie Pippen! The guy did it all, barely asked for any credit... LeBron is the Queen of Choke, fuck him
Thats right, Scottie Pippen, my favourite basketball player of all time, the commentator sums him up perfectly, MR. Everything. The Lebron comparisons r so ridiculous, calling lebron a clutch player, he buckles down under pressure, he is a quitter, he is a front runner player when his team is up back, dat when u see a lot of antics from him, he is not all dat gr8 defensively as scottie pippen was, he is no where near a Mr. Everything on a basketball court, when he is, then u can start comparing.
Scottie scored 30+ in only 3 qtrs in both meetings against the Lakers in 1996 lol. Amazing. The numbers they showed for 1995 against LA at 5:26 which were equally amazing. In his prime the guy truly was a Laker killer. This is like the 5th game I've seen from the 1996 season where Pippen scored 30 in just 3 qtrs and sat out the 4th qtr. If he were a stat padder he probably could have gone for 40-50 in some of those games.
Rodman is such an incredible talent...he understood his role so well, people think he was reckless, but he really understood the game. 18 rebounds a game? Holy smokes!
Scottie always put on the full display of talent against the Lakers. Look at the variety of ways he scored in this game. Catch and shoots, from the low post, from the high post, midrange shots, 3 pointers, tip dunks, off the drive, etc. He could score from every angle really. And it seemed there were so many games he could have scored 40+ but still took a backseat to make sure others got theirs instead of padding his stats. Scottie was simply a one of a kind player.
Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman. You know that's a tough lineup to go against. But when even Kukoc starts scoring, there's no way the opposing team could win.
This is like the 8th video I've watched over the course of the week about that season and it seems like a key highlight is always Pip! These videos clearly show his effect on the game and how deserving of the Hall that he is. He is also my all time favorite player. Congrats Pip!
That song still gives me chills. Greatest song on a basketball arena and the introduction was the best of all time! Missing those days and not even a bulls fan.
Michael Jordan created Bulls dynasty,Scottie Pippen completed it. Bulls can not run without any of them, they are they best pair ever in basketball history, their play is pure art, so smooth and so effective, looks like they know each others mind and act like one.
Man, they defined what basketball is, and showed the world how beautiful it is.
Pippen is such a unique player in NBA history. There is literally no team from any era that wouldn't immediately improve wiby dropping in Scottie.
Most players need certain situations to thrive. Rodman needed to play on teams with superior offensive players to make up for his lack of scoring. A guy like Iverson needs to dominate the ball and take tons of shots. Nash needs a certain system to thrive.
But Pippen could fit whatever roll you needed, at whatever pace, and add to the team.
@TBlake34 Rodman was a defensive player, he could thrive with any team whether they were good or bad! Like Pippen, Rodman would have still dominated on the boards and if he wanted could have scored as a low post player. Your estimation of these players and their ability to play is at best amateurish
@vincespell I think you've missed the point of my comment. Yes, Rodman would personally thrive wherever he played, but for his team to be effective, he needed to be surrounded by offensive players capable of playing 4 on 5 every time down the court. If Michael Jordan or Isaiah Thomas are on your team, it's not a problem, but you can't drop Rodman just anywhere and expect to win.
Even Jordan had the sort of personality that could cause conflict. Pippen is the ultimate teammate.
@TBlake34 That's not true, what about when Pippen when to the Rockets? He was lost without Jordan by his side. Also, did you notice Rodman was great on every team he went too? Pistons, Spurs, Bulls...all great teams while he was there. Of course you need other scorers on the team, one person can't do it all. But Rodman added more value to a team than you realize.
@thechester657 that was nearly end of his career when he played in portland and houston. what about 93-94 season? no jordan and his play was amazing. I say he was the best between 1990 and 1998
Jesus Christ Dennis! 18.2 Rebounds? Man, even Shaq or Wilt would have trouble with that, lol! one of the reasons why Phil Jackson called him his most talented athlete of his coaching career.
mikey may have been their best clutch player in da clutch, but i don't care what anyone says, their best pure basketball player was pippen all da way...i got into a lot of fights, arguments back then because i would say that, but i'm 29 now and i still say that...he was their best....take him away from that team and no way in hell they would have won even 1 ring...peace
the no contact rule in the NBA allows pure athletes to dominate. Before because of the physicality of the game players where forced to develope skills to get shots and move the ball. You didnt have the luxury of moving around unimpeded. You had a forearm on you and a player riding you. You use more athleticism in the 90's and endured more punishment. You needed skill to penetrate and skill to get points.
you dont need an offensive arsenal or a post game in todays game. All you need is athleticism and speed and you can just slash and get the dunk, layup, easy shot around the rim or collapse the defense and kick to a wide open shooter. Thats why you see these perimter players dominate so much and you se the extinction of the dominance and productivity of pf and centers. Its a guard game today the way the rules benefit them. its more athleticism today over skill
yea he did but he did say jordan was better than kobe but he did say there game is similar but kobe will never b as good as jordan i see it in LeBrons game tho once he has a more complete jumpshot hes gonna b a MAJOR problem...but phil is a old senile bastard im sure he meant mj was the best he coached lol
you cant compare lebrons game to jordans. If you have any knowledge of the game you would be able to see the deficiencies in lebrons offensive game. Lebrons dominance is dictated on being able to move around unimpededly. Lebrons offensive game wouldnt hold up in the 90's. Lebron would be a C caliber player had he played in the 90's. Jordan was the greatest perimeter post/ interior player ever. Lebron has no post game. If you're comparing lebrons game to jordans you're an idiot and shouldnt have
he meant only athleticaly... rodman was 1 or 2 years older than mj (did you know that) and at age 38-39 in 1998 he could run and jump and run for 40 minutes.... rodman was a beast of nature...... great endurance, great athletic abilities... notice in every highlight you watch, how he always ran the floor behind jordan or pippen and if they miss he would dunk the ball or if most probably they scored he would just jump and touch the rim... he was NEVER tired...
@Flowerofchaos did u know that rodman ddnt start playing basketball til he was older. i think college. so his body ddnt have as much mileage as mikes . ?! huh sucka did u know that?! lol just playin but yeah. he was still a straight beast though. 96 bulls. best team EVER .
@Flowerofchaos you are so right..most people don't give Rodman the credit he deserves. He was so athletic and always trying for the team.Always givining 100% of his energy

I think it was disrespectful if the starting 5 tried to pad stats in a blowout but I don't think it was a big deal if the scrubs did it in garbage time. I remember the Bulls fans in attendance getting free tacos or something like that if the Bulls scored 120 so it gave the bench guys incentive to score during blowouts. I think that's why they were trying so hard to score in the end.
Pippen used to shoot 3's at the end of games all the time. It was almost like a Bulls tradition - Pippen shooting a long 3 at the buzzer w/ the game well decided.
