all I did was log out and log back in. it's that the computer doesn't have the file on your desktop but for some reason the computer still has the icon. If you log out and log back in, it will refresh and remove the icon
You can always hit 'F5' while on your desktop. I believe that's the refresh hotkey. Right clicking on your desktop, and clicking 'refresh' does the same.
Maybe it's some kind of error of the filesystem, but it's gonna be healed under the next system boot up. Every filesystem could be in the state of inconsistent.
hmm this happened to me... but erm...it was because when i deleted it off my hard drive i was running a few programs and switching between them, and it encounterd an error. I then restarted my PC, and it had dissapeard automaticly thank god.
Yup, you have to delete the shortcut BEFORE you delete the program, beacuse it seems that is you don't do that then you are stuck with the icons. Vista, i pray, should get some kinda patch for that one, but most likely, not.
prove that you are really running vista by applying the Vista colours and effects (if possible) then but another video on because i think you have downloaded somesort of vista program for XP off the internet. Prove me Wrong!
I'm not going to take another video but you can tell it's vista because of the icons, wallpaper, and the format of the delete box. I don't use the Aero theme because Vista feels much, much faster without it.
@TheMichaelJordan2323 I know its Vista now because that comment is 3 years old. I was wrong. I forgot all about that comment and replying to my comment led me back here to see what I put. I sounded like an idiot when I left that comment.
lol you Noob you must rightclick on the desktop and then choose the last Word. In German it call Anpassen then in the new Windows you have to click on Desktopysymbols change on the left side!!!! Second option!! Then choose Recyclig bin you NOOOB!
Here's an unlocker that works most of the time:
/watch?v=QntoYqqm3UA
It will fix this error.

its to do with the file index being retarded.
in start type "indexing options"
and then rebuild the index. that should fix it.
