just all part of god's plan, eh? all you bible humping sheep? god gives the girl rubella so she can infect a womans baby, who's born at three pounds and saved by the miracles of science, to only be deaf, blind, and severely retarded.
no wonder the poor woman went insane, i can imagine all the b.s. she had to hear about how people were praying for her. god gave her that beauty so he could use it to destroy her.
i love it how religious people go feebly mute around tragedy like this.
Gene didn't blame the woman either. "There was nothing I could do that fan. She didn't know what she was doing to me. But how can you forget something like that? It's always with me." Spoken by the lady herself. A class act all the way.
A truly lovely actress. I loved her in Laura and Heaven Can Wait with 2 of my other favorites, Dana Andrews and Don Ameche. Such sadness in her personal life.
Yes -- I've seen Agatha Christie's "The Mirror Crack'd" on TV (with Joan Hickson as Miss Marple), but never realized the plot was based on actual events in Gene Tierney's life. I just looked up the publication date for that particular Christie book -- it was 1962, almost 30 years before Gene Tierney's death, so she must have known about it and she must have been hurt by it. I think it was damned heartless of Agatha Christie to use a tragedy like that for her own purposes.
OMG! The Mirror Cracked!!! My heart is in my throat right now!!!!

Her life is her best accomplishment. Although tragic, it makes a great story.

Very Tragic!
I would have beat that woman severely!
How very selfish of her to sneak out and get others sick because of what SHE wanted! Dumb bitch!

@carmenjones411 Lol, agreed. People can blame fame and celebrity all they want, but there will always be selfish idiots running around.
