The Only thing I would change is to Have the Earth and Moon From orbit reflected in Laika's Eyes instead of the lights. It may be small detail but I think It would make this portrait go to the top!!! Especially for people who would look upon this portrait and catch those fine details.And It would be a great tribute to Liaka (Kudryavka(Her real Name)). Without Her Sacrifice things would not be the same.

Very beautiful! I do stained glass painting, basically Manganese, applied all black, and then you work backwards, taking off lots of pigment, with dry brushes, sticks, needles &c -and fire in a kiln @550 c Laika is a lovely drawing. Well done! The EYES are the windows to the soul...get the eyes right, and the face follows ok.

hey good sir , you are sooo talented , i went out to the store to get all the supplies that you said you used, water color paper , black oil paint, and some brushes, i painted a portrait but the shading didnt turn out the way yours does, do you let the paint on the brush fully dry or what? I, too, from beginning nothing good turned out, you need to train in this technique, to draw a few portraits in a day, in 3-4 years will be noticeable in your successes. In this technique of drawing I paint over 20 years.

Like PortraitDrawing already said, his videos are about showing the TECHNIQUE. I'd never even heard of the dry brush technique before seeing his videos. I think it's absolutely beautiful!

And ConsiderMeGuru, just because airbrush painting has the same effect doesn't mean that this technique is worthless. It's just a different way of doing it. Being an artist yourself, I'd think you would appreciate it.
