i love agthurs alot for length and everything but watch the one where hes behind that old set from no such thing , i know its not long or intense like the other one, but the way hes dancing and jiving it, kills me everythime
I wish he would release a "B-sides" album with Humming Bird, Lifelines, Covered in the Rain, In Your Atmosphere, Sucker, This Will All Make Perfect Sense Someday, Why Did You Mess With Forever?, and his version of Kid A. - I would buy that in an instant.
Those songs are why I play guitar the way I do today. Thank you Jon. =)
Well, you can find Covered in the Rain on Any Given Thursday (best version IMO), and In Your Atmosphere on Where the Light Is (Also, my fav. live version - that jam afterwards is a perfect fit) - but as for a b-sides record having been released - I'm not aware of one.
I've got a mix CD of "old" Mayer songs (from 7 years ago) - stuff bootlegged from those now classic Eddie's Attic shows, and others. They were rough recordings, but the songs were great. I still have them if you wanna hear em
@BigTy456 Yeah it's one that really embodies what those early J. M. seemed to be searching for (brilliantly) - that kind of curious wonder we do with love, while being forefront with our grievances at it's aches and pains. The stuff I love about early Mayer
" ...tonight were gonna order in, drinkin wine and watchin' CNN". Johns got this weird realtable X factor about him that makes you feel his music as if you were there while he went thru this. it was a dark time for everybody and we can all relate. and then to pull it out for the soaked crowd a was nice way of makin everyone feel it too. john 's brilliant on so may levels!
i think this version was improvised, cuz the ending was a bit weird, are they suppose to speed up the riff part?.but nonetheless, it was still awesome.
i have been to three john mayer concerts, and this was his best show. he was so emotionally connected and thankful for his fans. it was just amazing. this song was so incredible - the rain was amazing. i'll never ever forget this show.
I have also been to 3 john mayer concerts. Did you really think this was his best? He was emotionally connected, but I didn't like a some of the songs he sang. There were some weak cuts from Continuum album, and then he played medley's of some acoustic songs-- when I really would have rather heard a whole song from start to finish. Slow Dancing was broken up by some other song he mixed in with it. It was John doing his thing, but not as fun as other concerts.
it was beautiful to feel the rain and the beautifulness of this song. He's absolutly more than words...completely amazing. I love this song. You can guarentee that anything that comes from this man (concerts new albums, whatever) will be freaking awesome and totally beyond worth it. I cant get enough of him. Totally love him!!! Every note from the guitar you can just feel it...feel his emotions and just DAMN!!! beautiful!
I was there!!!! His music completely made you forgot about the rain; it was incredible that he threw this song in just as it began to drizzle. Do not miss seeing him live--it's an experience you'll never forget. He is unbelievably talented!!!! LOVE HIM!!!!

You can find a lot of those songs on his live albums. Any Given Thursday, Where the Light Is, etc.

Smooth, and a little tinnier then the Any Given Thursday version, and WAY to short. It's best when it's closer 9 mins XD

his best solo is during the any given thursday version easily
