  • Execution is interesting, but ... where they sing here? Sweeney Todd is a musical after all! (And this is the best ;) ) I think a little more testing and it would be better. But still nice to be watched. Always some other variety ;D

  • The scream made me lol. xP

  • Better poor singing through and through than poor singing AND poor acting where there should be singing.

  • Sweeney Todd is a musical, I'm in it right now, so where's the singing? I'm sorry but you guys bombed this. The casting was bad the costumes were bad and it just sucks..

  • Good acting, Toby seems just... Stupid. And, obviously, not portrayed properly without singing

  • I enjoy it...not psychotic enough though...

  • 2:32- the person in the audience. exactly my words. this was so awkward.

  • Agree this is crap

  • should of sang it

  • lo unico bueno es lo del final

  • Lol

  • This is a joke for Sweeney Todd! :o

  • they....suck....balls

  • Awkward. Sorry, but it's not the same without them singing.

  • Holy fucking shit this is so awkward.

  • That light hurt my eyes :P

  • you suck

  • Sweeney's final set of lyrics (barber and his wife) would make an awesome monologue!

  • thumbs up if you came here looking for johnny and helen

  • stop bitching people, everybody knows that Sweeney Todd s a musical but the budget couldnt afford a musical play or the actors (very good acting btw ) could not sing properly, it happens. but it was really good ! bloody good. even if it was without any music.

  • great play and very good acting

  • Actually I've never seen the movie but the 1982 musical and this one cannot be considered to be a good performance

And far as i now, every version of Sweeney involves musics

BTW, Tim Burton definitely is not the original, but Stephen Sondheim is

  • @w123223445 Well, not every version. Certainly not the original Dibdin-Pitt play and not the Bond adaptation that Sondheim's is adapted from. If someone wants to do Sweeney Todd, but doesn't have the capability to do a musical, the Bond version is available.

  • This is actually really cool. Anyone bitching has standards too high. This is a great effort, and a whole version in and of itself. If you've ever seen the older stage plays, you would know this is pretty damn good.

No, the singing is not required. There have been many versions without singing. Tim Burton's isn't the original, you know.

  • Oh God... Forgive me, I was certain plays involved actors

  • Sweeney Todd is a musical story, so if you can't perform it with music, you shouldn't perform it at all :/ ...

  • Dude, they should sing!!!!!

  • @pinkvain Totally agree...Needs the music!

  • Nice done. :)

It's not easy to play this part. Nice job.

  • woah, what's with all the hate comments? This is good!

Just wondering, what did you use as the razor?

  • SING THE STUPID SONG

  • disturbing. O.O

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • i..ii...i seen better acting in p..p..pornoes :P

  • I actually liked this. Really well-acted, and the a cappella was interesting; gave the whole scene a realistic, dark sense of melancholy. =)

  • not. good. at. all.

  • It would have been better if the whole things was sung and if there was background music

  • sucks

  • that was absoluty dreadful

u know i just wasnt really feeling it dawg u know what i mean dawg

    that........ that....moved me..

  • For some reason I thought this was Peter Pan, the singing is...okay.

  • that bit when that girl comes and says u shouldnt had ever killed and he pushed her away and went meeeeeeeeeh THAT DIDNT HAPPEN IN FILUM U DESCUST ME U !!!!

  • haha lol sämst xP

  • this is bloody brilliant, you guys r awsome

  • so lets keep living it, just keep living it....really living it!

    lol

it is kinda weird without the singing, i thought at first maybe it was the play version, but they used all the lyrics for the songs but without singing....

    strange

  • lol when he throw the knife i thought it hit lucy!

  • @xxJynxiexx XDXD

  • who's dead?

  • why aren't they singing this is wired

  • @shortnes I agree. Odd that there was no singing at the beginning. It was touching after Sweeny got rid of Mrs. Lovett and sang to Lucy. I wasnt't crazy about Toby shiwing up. Like it better in the movie where he sneaks up on Todd and kills him.

  • mrs. lovett messed up her lines at the end....

  • see it with christine baranski! <3

  • Lol,,

  • not the same without the singing in the beginning. it has no punch. the singing hits you in the heart. speaking the songs it just annoying. & the end was ......bad.

  • Just try to remember that Sweeney Todd was written for the STAGE and the movie means NOTHING. Yes it was a good movie but what you have just commented on was the actual musical, not the film. Don't suppose you would know what real theatre is.

  • @glozone that movie was awesome the first movie was actually in 1936 the beginning of sweeny todd so it was probably meant for both. :)

ps. my favorite movie was the one with johnny depp

  • @glozone ad yes i do know what REAL theater is i have been to lots of plays theater shows even acted in some

  • LOOLOLOLOLOLOLOL THats not how mrs. lovett dies! I mean, I saw the broadway one online and the movie, and she was both throne into her oven. Another person said she got her throat slit, but almost everyone disagreed- guess pushing her off the stage is one of doing it! or down a hole works idk i can't really see! ;) ;) I still thought you did a great job though!

  • W-O-W

  • wtf wAS with the ending>?

  • Yeah, well, I have seen the movie, maybe that's it, but it was really different than the movie. Is this how it's supposed to be?

  • brovo!

    amazing job <3

  • I didden't really like it, i thought it sounded abit silly how they were speaking the words to the song and how he suddenly started singing randomly when the rest of the song was spoken...when he embraced her i thought that was very un-enthusiastic i did the same mistake when i was in a play. I think if they could have watched themselves they would be able to make a vast improvement

  • Much agreement here. It was a bit... And they messed up the lyrics!

  • Toby was pretty good, I admit.

  • Tobias was to cruel in this

  • nice gedaan ^^

  • SEXY!

  • i like the movie more than the play

  • Sweeney broke my heart with his reprise. Tobey was done all wrong, though. There was no purpose behind his actions, as if the actor just did what they did because the script called for it. BTW: is Toby a girl?

  • Toby found out what sweeney did, so he slashed his throat. And Toby's a boy.

  • I know all that, I'm talking about this particular performance . . . I was asking if THIS Toby was played by a girl . . .

  • really good rendition, the acting is amazng and singing is ok, and of u get extra points cos you tried to make it a different than other versions :3

  • ty so much to Johnny depp!!

  • Wait if they had music why didn't they use it before

  • This is pretty good I have to say. Remember, they only had a week. So, they did really great with what they had.

  • Er...it was free anyway so you would have had a hard time getting your money back! Loser.

And we did take care of the music situation. This is the only scene done a capella.

  • Sweeney Todd without the music (The RIGHT music) is just pointless.

I would have left in the first hald and demanded my money back.

If you weren't given the score, then you should have taken care of that.

  • I played Anthony/MD in this production and thought id give some answers to questions. Firstly, music wise I totally agree that there should have been music (despite Luke and Becky being fantastic A Capella), but we werent given a score so any music you here on this clip was written and played by myself (some bits better than others) and was just my take on Sondheim's Music.

Secondly (and hel hate me for saying this) Luke you blatently forgot your words!

Thirdly, yes scootergirl il tel him :P

  • I didn't like Toby. He was supposed to be derranged. More soft spoken and rattled. Kind of fragile. And killing him was supposed to be much more spontaneous.

But it was good. I really liked Sweeney

  • HAHA

    Sweeney: Neruegh! *Pushes him*

  • weirdo

  • lol no you are not ;P I must say something to everyone! ;)

  • i love the guy ho plays sweeney todd and i also lvoe the acting

  • good job. i like it when ur sweeney desides to push lil tobby.

ummmmm by the way ur Sweeney todd is really cute. tell him someone wrote that. lol.

  • The actor playing Sweeney Todd reminds me of Johny Rotten.

  • it wouldve been better if they had some music to accompany you guys ...or sung somethings u'kno

  • I'm not insulting them but I think it'd be better if they had sung the lines instead of just reciting them...

  • Yep, and at oen point when the guy was saying "learn forgiveness and try to forget" it sounded like he forgot his line lol

  • They sound really good a capella.

  • A Fantastic performance! I loved every minute!

  • lol that looks fun!

  • your high school or orginazation doesn't have an orchestra to accompany?

  • We only had a week to put this show on so didn't have time to get an orchestra. Just used backing tracks and did some bits a capella.

  • @glozone A WEEK?! Then they shouldn't have done it! A play has to have at LEAST 100 hours of rehearsal. Is this a rehearsal? I feel it's rather bleh. And it's very sad that your college doesn't provide proper necessities for a production. Very very sad...

  • @glozone Seriously a WEEK! That's no less then amazing!

  • Brilliant :D
