if i want to put my contacts into a contact lens case, do i use a separate bought saline solution or can i use the Clear Care solution when it turns saline after 6 hours?
Um, I didn't know I had to open the disk and put the lenses in so instead I put them on the outside. But it did soak for 6 hrs. Should I redo it? I'm scared to put them on. Help!
Does The Solution Bring That Lil Thing With It Or Is It Seperate? Sorry iDidnt Hear My iPod Isnt Very Loud/: & If It Comes Seperate Where Can iBuy It? Thanks(:
@applesmnch2 yea.. i had the same question. i re-read the bottle just to make sure, and it says 6 hours or atleast overnight. I was scared for a second.
@applesmnch2 It can be more, but it must be at least 6. The reason is that the special case is lined with platinum which breaks down the hydrogen peroxide into H2O and O2 (water and oxygen.) This process takes about 6 hours. If you take them out too soon and the hydrogen peroxide hasn't had enough time to break down then your eyes will sting quite a bit when you put your contacts in. That's why you can't use this as a cleaner because the peroxide will burn your eyes. More than 6hrs is fine.
I would get this but the problem is tht i get about 9 hours of sleep which is more than 6 hours needed for this and i wont wake up just 2 take them out. Tips on wat i can do?? Is there one of those container contraptions tht dosent require 6 hours??? Thx
They aren't going to be sued!!!! It says on the label NOT to put this solution in your eyes!!! Many times! I am excited to use this solution because it cleans so well and it doesn't have harsh chemicals like others do. My eye dr. Told me to switch today :)

TT^TT i didnt clean my lenses properly so now there are some king of greenish bacteria growing on it. :( I need new ones and this time ill definitely take care of it!
oh well actually i dont have a lens case but i have the storage case and i put a similar solution but i forgot to put it in for 4 hours and drain it then my eyes started burning on fire i looked it was in bold letters SOAK CONTACTS FOR 4 HOURSN THEN STORE AWAY IN LENS CASE. I have 1 problem with this, when I want to wear the contact lenses again after 6 hours, the lenses in the basket are kinda 'dry', can I use the neutralized solution in the case to wet the contacts? my eyes got very dry from the minute the lenses were inside...
I have a question: I just bought this product and it is seemed like the clear care just can take good care of the outside of the lenses, since the inside is totally stick to the case.
I don't know what will happen when it is neutralizing, but do you think this is a problem?
I highly recommend this product. If you want to know the science behind it, I have an excellent post here at scienceinproducts(dot)blogspot(dot)com exploring it indepth.
To the people calling this way to clean and store your lenses 'dangerous' you are completely incorrect!
As someone who is unable to wear lenses that have been soaked in any solution except for a hydrogen peroxide one, I can say that this is actually one of the best solutions out there.
The cleaning method is so thorough it reduces chances of eye infections and best of all for me, I get no unwanted irritation when I put my lenses in.

What a poorly made video. It hardly gives any information about how the solution works. As some have noted, the solution contains hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which actually cleans the lens. However, H2O2 is corrosive and you don't want it to touch your eyes. So the system here has a small amount of catalyst in the brown disc, which decomposes the peroxide as follows
2 H2O2 --> 2 H2O + O2 (<--creates bubbles)
The reaction is slow, hence the 6 hr wait to ensure all traces of H2O2 are eliminated.
Yup! You got it. I made a blog dedicated to interesting products like this. scienceinproducts(dot)blogspot(dot)com My very first posting was this one!

In my experience, you can go and rinse the metal part with tap water before reusing it. That'll remove a lot of the NaCl and other minerals that end up covering the metal part, which is the catalyst for the reaction. Then you'll get something good as new!
I wrote a blog post explaining all this. Scienceinproducts(dot)blogspot(dot)com
yes you are supposed to do this with all solution hence the simalarities between this product and all the others which is why so many people have learnt the hard way and put this shit into their eyes.. i have been using this product for 3 months now and have yet to have any problems with it. i use it for overnite cleaning. i also have a saline solution for quick rinses if needed. so far i like it ^_^
@KissyCathyCat What he mean is the solution is not a multi-purpose solution like no-rub ones. This has hydrogen peroxide and will only work inside the special case that comes with it. The platinum disc breaks the peroxide chemically turning it into sterile solution. If you do this for example rinse your lens with it then put it in your eye it will burn.
if you want a good, scientific explanation, I put a post on my blog here scienceinproducts/blogspot/com (just replace the / with . ). Frankly, the usual method (enzyme cleaner) is equally as scary, if you think about it.
Please, can someone tell me, Is it normal that after i cleaned my contact lenses properly and put them as doctor told me to do, my eyes become red and it hurts? Then I just wait for 10 sec and it stops. Is it happening to anyone or just to me?I take care of hygiene too much, i even clean my lenses for about a minute, more than i should.and do all the recommended stuff.???Thank you in advance!
Probably the saline balance is too much for your eye. There might to too much, or too little, salt in the solution. You can rinse your lenses with another saline solution if you need.
I would say this is better than multipurpose solutions ( in cleaning and comfort ). I don't like how you can't clean it with the solution but, my eyes feel so comfortable when i put my contacts on. It doesn't have that multipurpose sting to it.
so after leaving the contacts inside the bottle thingy for 6 hours... can you use them right away or do you have to wash them with some kind of solution or what? "/
So if you let it sit for 6 hours then you use it and you want to put it back in the case, do you remove the solution you used last time? and put in new solution? or what?
According to CIBA's website- You should discard the Clear Care lens case after using each bottle of Clear Care. Each bottle you buy comes with a case included, so just use the new one each time you buy a new bottle.
Yeah don't boil it. You can use it up to a "hundred times" according to the package instructions. You throw it away once you get a new package of the hydrogen peroxide solution.
@xarlene11 uh because it won't be effective once the fizzing and 6 hours is over with. the hydrogen peroxide won't be effective if it's dirty with your previous contacts and it won't cause a chain reaction in the catalyst (the container) and no fizzing. So why would you reuse dirty solution and stick it back in your eye? That's like sterilizing a baby toy then dumping it in mud. it's a lot of liquid, but it's a lot better than using multi-purpose solution which doesn't clean it AT ALL btw.
It works incredibly well for me. What exactly are you doing? I'm sure I could help. Send me a message here, or at scienceinproducts(dot)blogspot(dot)com
@xarlene11 If you need a cleaner have a normal multi-purpose solution available for cleaning. As for being wasteful, it uses what it needs to do its job and it does its job better than any other solution that I've tried, and I've been through about a half dozen before finding Clean Care. For many people having truly clean and brand new feeling lenses is worth using a few extra ML of solution every night.
what do you do to the case after the contacts are inserted into the eyes? i used to wash them off with water and let them air dry on some tissue. but, my dad said they can get bacteria on them so i now leave the solution in the case and close it up until i need to use it again.
Nope. But you can if you want too. I normally just use the neutralized solution when putting the contacts in. Make sure its sat for 6 hours min, If not it hurts like a #$!@& when you get it in your eye. It is good to have something like Renu on hand incase you need to use the contacts before the solutiion has nutralized.
"turns the dirty solution into clean sterile saline solution"? I guess half of that was right. The ridged disk is platinum coated which reacts with the hydrogen peroxide to make water and oxygen. The box also says (as do most bottles of hydrogen peroxide) not to shake it. That basically agitates the solution and turns it into plain old water even faster and then your lens won't be disinfected. I do wonder what the chemical differences are between AO Sept and Clear Care though.
You can store them for up to 7 days UNOPENED. However, and this is very important if you plan to wear them after 24 hours of soaking you will need another soak (6 hours again) as the neutralized solution can attract bugs/parasites again.
If you want the ultimate in eye health go with daily-disposable silicon-hydrogels - no cleaning required!
wen you first get it they say to only wear it for six hours and the next day add an hour and the day after that another hour, etc. Leaving it in doesnt damage the contact in any way.The six hour thing is more for your comfort and to prevent any strain on your behalf.
your information is incorrect. the 6 hr window is the time frame the company specifies the user to leave the dirty contacts in the soution in-order to turn the hydrogen peroxide soution H202 into h20 water. the hydrogen peroxide reacts with the special disk turning into h20 after 6 hours. prolly happens faster though. then after 6 hrs, your contacts could be stored forever in the h20, but eventually the h20 would get bacteria and mold and other stuff in it, since there is a vent hole on top
@groverdoc1 How can i know if there are parasties in my eye? I used solution as water once and it bothered my eye but now it doesnt bother but i just want to make sure i dont have any
@groverdoc1 umm..' what are the signs 0f having parasites in y0ur eye?..' and what medicine c0uld i apply in my eye if i already see the signs?..' and lastly, what will i d0 t0 my c0ntact lens if i already rinse it with tap water?..' :)) please answer..'
it's really good. now i have no problems with my contact lenses. before, when i used a solution, 2-3 months afterward, it started to get really uncomfortable .. now, i use clear care for over half and year and it's perfect (:
me being stupid i cleaned the contact with it and then put it my eye- OW! it hurt soooo bad. i couldnt open my eye for 10 minutes, then it was watering like mad, THEN my eye was bloodshot red. :l
yeah. i use this and its good, but the first time i didnt read the bottle and put it in my flat case. and when i put my right lense in it was the most excruciating pain ive ever been in, ugh and i felt like an idiot cause after i saw all the warnings on the bottle.

I don't think this is the best case, what if one of your contacts is infected, then both contacts will get infected and both of your eyes will get the infection. There are no proof that the cleaning solutions are 100% safe. It is better to have the contacts each in their separate spot. Just my opinion, I might be wrong.
That solution he is using (Clear Care) is a total disinfectant. If you were to put those drops in your eyes you would be in the most excrutiating pain. That solution is one of the best on the market (in my opinion) for completely cleaning your lenses.
No no no no no, That solution contains acid, the acid burns ABSOLUTLY EVERYTHING KNOWN that can get on the contact, thats why you have to leave them in there for 6 hours, so the disk dilutes the acid into this salty water mixture(I accidently gotten it in my mouth once)
Clear Care is better than multi-purpose solutions like Aquify. I am allergic to multi-purpose solutions... they are also confusing to use, and they don't disinfect lenses as well as clear care.. trust me...
when i used a multi-purpose solution, my contact lenses seemed kinda "unclean" and less comfortable. using Clear Care makes my contacts much more comfortable, and it's better for your eye health because it cleans it better.
i just dropped my contacts and they were pretty dirty, so i went to the sink and sort of washed it off with the liquid my optometrist gave me, and i put my contact lenses in a little cup with the liquid in it to stay for a couple of hours.. is it safe to wear again?
I'm an optometrist. This video is excellent! Clear Care is a great solution. I prefer Optifree Replenish though, only because patients sometimes FORGET to neutralize the solution (the effervescent bubbling neutralizes the pH of the peroxide). Wrong pH = pain. This solution is good for people who have allergies or who tend to build up lots of deposits on their lenses. I recommend Clear Care or any other peroxide system. Kills bugs good! Great video!!!
ummm... u don't need to add anything to clear care... it has a neutralizer built in. and it is much better than those multi purpose solutions and keeps the contacts and eyes much more healthy
My criterion for fitting children with contacts is a 'yes' response to the following question(s): 'Do you wash and dry your own laundry, fold your own clothes and then put them away?' If yes, a child is responsible enough to take care of contacts. - Mary Ann Button, O.D.
Yes. It's a good idea to have a bottle of saline around (like B&L Sensitive Eyes) just in case you get a piece of lint on the lens and need to rinse it. You can't rinse with unneutralized Clear Care because it will HURT! - Mary Ann Button, O.D. (Oh, if any one needs validation of my credentials, I practice in Oregon and my licence number is 2599ATI. Check with the Oregon Board of Optometry).
So can i not use other solutions with this case?

You can store them for up to 7 days UNOPENED. However, and this is very important if you plan to wear them after 24 hours of soaking you will need another soak (6 hours again) as the neutralized solution can attract bugs/parasites again.
If you want the ultimate in eye health go with daily-disposable silicon-hydrogels - no cleaning required!

Thank you!
I'll keep that in mind! =)

i was wondering can u rinse the contact lenses before putting it in? and what if we forgot to take it out after 6 hours would it affect the contact?
xxKawaiiWafflexx 2 years ago
wen you first get it they say to only wear it for six hours and the next day add an hour and the day after that another hour, etc. Leaving it in doesnt damage the contact in any way.The six hour thing is more for your comfort and to prevent any strain on your behalf.
AARaholic202 2 years ago
oh ok thanks u ^^
xxKawaiiWafflexx 2 years ago
your information is incorrect. the 6 hr window is the time frame the company specifies the user to leave the dirty contacts in the soution in-order to turn the hydrogen peroxide soution H202 into h20 water. the hydrogen peroxide reacts with the special disk turning into h20 after 6 hours. prolly happens faster though. then after 6 hrs, your contacts could be stored forever in the h20, but eventually the h20 would get bacteria and mold and other stuff in it, since there is a vent hole on top
sanjose21ca 2 years ago
dunno if it will damage the lens but it will definitely hurt ure eye
wittyworldlee 2 years ago
really?
xxKawaiiWafflexx 2 years ago
likely, yeah cos the lens will go dry and stick to ure eye and it stings a bit. but its diff for everyone

Never rinse your soft contact lenses with tap water... unless you want parasites growing on your eyes.

it's really good. now i have no problems with my contact lenses. before, when i used a solution, 2-3 months afterward, it started to get really uncomfortable .. now, i use clear care for over half and year and it's perfect (:

I don't think this is the best case, what if one of your contacts is infected, then both contacts will get infected and both of your eyes will get the infection. There are no proof that the cleaning solutions are 100% safe. It is better to have the contacts each in their separate spot. Just my opinion, I might be wrong.
jcws649 3 years ago
That solution he is using (Clear Care) is a total disinfectant. If you were to put those drops in your eyes you would be in the most excrutiating pain. That solution is one of the best on the market (in my opinion) for completely cleaning your lenses.
DarwinwasWrong 3 years ago
No no no no no, That solution contains acid, the acid burns ABSOLUTLY EVERYTHING KNOWN that can get on the contact, thats why you have to leave them in there for 6 hours, so the disk dilutes the acid into this salty water mixture(I accidently gotten it in my mouth once)
Ardefoc 3 years ago
It's a peroxide solution, not an acid.
groverdoc1 2 years ago
is clear care the best solution? and is it okay to use with freshlook colored contacts ??
branw11223 3 years ago
yes, it is the best on the market and its fine with all contacts
Ardefoc 3 years ago
Clear Care is better than multi-purpose solutions like Aquify. I am allergic to multi-purpose solutions... they are also confusing to use, and they don't disinfect lenses as well as clear care.. trust me...
when i used a multi-purpose solution, my contact lenses seemed kinda "unclean" and less comfortable. using Clear Care makes my contacts much more comfortable, and it's better for your eye health because it cleans it better.
gbmack2000 3 years ago
i just dropped my contacts and they were pretty dirty, so i went to the sink and sort of washed it off with the liquid my optometrist gave me, and i put my contact lenses in a little cup with the liquid in it to stay for a couple of hours.. is it safe to wear again?
rawr1111111 3 years ago
I'm an optometrist. This video is excellent! Clear Care is a great solution. I prefer Optifree Replenish though, only because patients sometimes FORGET to neutralize the solution (the effervescent bubbling neutralizes the pH of the peroxide). Wrong pH = pain. This solution is good for people who have allergies or who tend to build up lots of deposits on their lenses. I recommend Clear Care or any other peroxide system. Kills bugs good! Great video!!!

Button36 3 years ago
ummm... u don't need to add anything to clear care... it has a neutralizer built in. and it is much better than those multi purpose solutions and keeps the contacts and eyes much more healthy

can 13 yr olds use contacts? =]
xxmamiichulaxx 3 years ago
i have seen 10 year old boys using it, so i think so
wareye12 3 years ago
My criterion for fitting children with contacts is a 'yes' response to the following question(s): 'Do you wash and dry your own laundry, fold your own clothes and then put them away?' If yes, a child is responsible enough to take care of contacts. - Mary Ann Button, O.D.
Button36 3 years ago
does the basket hold the both the left and the right contact lens?
happypuppy638 3 years ago
so after it is in for 6 hrs, you can take it out of the basket and put in directly out out your eye?
happypuppy638 3 years ago
Button36 3 years ago
Sensitive Eyes sucks. Use Unisol instead.

i was cryinggg.

RubyRed999 3 years ago

How many uses does the bottle get? It looks like you have to use a lot of solution to fill up that container each time.
