  • "Change IP to new host" ? Can you do that by yourself ?

doesn't that require some action (permission) from your old hosting ?

  • I disagree... a better way is to wait until your TTL is set... e.g. the method should be:

    1) Assume your TTL was set to 86400 (24 hours)... set your TTL to 300 ( 5minutes)

    2) Wait 24 hours (the old TTL setting) after you changed the TTL

    3) Move the website/database/content to new host (don't make any changes to old host)

    4) Change IP to new host

    5) Bingo-bango

  • DNS stands for domain name system first, domain name server, second.

  • @hm2k And thus we can say DNS server and still be grammatically correct ... unlike ATM Machines :)

  • You can see a related video, but with Matt with much less marathons and hair: youtube.com/watch?v=w41dsE87CfY&feature=related

Content is awesome anyway and Matt explanations and sound is better in my opinion in this newer one.

  • Does Google Analytics work on IP Addresses or Domain Names? If on Domain Names, we should not observe the traffic curve.
